The Plaza Mariana Pineda in Granada is an emblematic space that honours the heroine Mariana Pineda, a key figure in the history of the city. This square is also relevant in the work of Federico García Lorca, who wrote one of his best known tragedies, Mariana Pineda, inspired by the life and death of the young woman, who fought for freedom and justice in the 19th century. The square, located in the heart of the Albaicín, evokes both the memory of the heroine and the connection of Lorca with the cultural heritage and history of Granada.
