What you can expect

Beyond the huge artistic legacy left by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera (perhaps the most famous artists of Mexico), they left what they both had most in common, their love for the land that saw them being born, their roots and their culture.

We invite you to a wonderful journey in time where you will visit 3 emblematic sites deeply related to these two great Mexican artists of the twentieth century and which are located in the heart of one of the most fascinating and iconic areas of Mexico, Coyoacán.

The first stop on the tour will be the visit to the “Blue House”, the house that saw Frida Kahlo born and die; In this place, you can experience part of the feelings that inspired her works, both joy and sadness, courage and suffering. You will find there a total set of belongings of this great artist, objects and walls that were part of her life and in which Frida created and left her feelings and emotions, this visit will help us to better understand everything that she represents in her works and paintings throughout his life.

Later, the trip will continue through the Anahuacalli Museum. An emblematic site in which Diego and Frida wanted to build a home as a couple; an idea that could not be carried out, but that, under the great imagination of Diego Rivera, was transformed from a volcanic rock terrain, into a museum that combines the modern construction ideas and the pre-Hispanic roots of Mexico. There you will see some of Diego Rivera's sketches for murals as well as part of his collection of pre-Hispanic works that houses about 2,000 figures and idols from different cultures and periods of the ancient history of Mexico, where in the first instance, crossing the main hall, one will meet the four most important deities of the Mexican pre-Hispanic world and that represent the four elements.

Finally, we will end up in a museum that is of special mention because it was not a place where Frida or Diego lived, but is a place where most of their legacy remains present: Dolores Olmedo Museum, home of a wonderful compilation of Diego Rivera's works and the largest collection in the world of Frida Khalo's paintings (such as “Henry Ford Hospital”, “The Broken Column” and “Autoretrato con Changuito”, one of Frida Kahlo’s most iconic paintings).

This enigmatic journey will transport him in time to understand the life and work of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
