If you have realistic expectations for this hotel, you will love it. It is quaint, the balcony right on the bay water is lovely and unique, the views of the bridge are unbeatable, the rooms & bathrooms are a good size, and the staff are friendly.
On the “realistic” side though—the hotel is old, it has some character. The sheets were clean and the room smelled good which is always my biggest necessity, but the area of town is smelly due to the bay. It’s that sea water/pelican poop/fishy smell that really stretches along the entire shore of the town. You do get mostly used to it though!
Breakfast was small, mostly packaged stuff with some hot items like oatmeal. Coffee was good and the breakfast sites out of the window are gorgeous. Highly recommend making it to the Farmer’s Market on the weekends, the street is beautiful and the vendors are kind with great booths!
