一间好的酒店,不单是依靠它的房间来显示它的品质,更要依靠它的综合配置和服务水平来令它在同业中脱颖而出。 我预订了这间酒店的SPA服务。 我是一位亚洲脸,来自中国,有一位亚洲脸员工从我进入SPA大厅开始,她对着我一直是张冷脸。也许是她投入了太多热情到服务一位欧美客人中,以至她没有剩余的友好值来面对我。 我选做了热石按摩,被技师告知如果感觉烫要告诉她。途中我被烫了7、8次,告诉了她5、6次,但每一次都没有得到任何回音,前三次我甚至以为她是听不到我(因为这时我是趴在按摩床上,脸朝下)。后来我发现她虽然不应声,但是在手法上有改变,于是我知道她是听到了却不给我回应。 Chi SPA的装修质感是不错的,软件设施也挺好。员工的服务素质有待提高。 自助餐厅的前台女接待员也基本都板着个脸。而餐区员工表现得热情周到。 在中餐厅我点的菜的味道都很不错,其中一道菜的食材出了错,和主厨说明后,他为我们退了菜并赠予了一碟新菜和一份水果拼盘。我们很受用啊,因为人家的工作态度是好的。后来我们聊了很久,他很热情的。

The concierge promised me a new mercedes S500, then they changed and told me a Range Rover was outside waiting, then I go outside and see an aged Jaguar to drive me to TanGalle. This was terrible and dishonest and downright disorganized. Oh I took my own bags down as I asked them to come and take to car, they seemed too busy. Anyways as I got down to lobby then they tried to take my bags, sorry I'll take my own bags and I'll never come back. Amateurs.

Here's the revised review incorporating the additional details about the breakfast buffet and gluten-free options: My wife and I stopped over at the Shangri-La hotel in Sri Lanka on our way from Australia to the Maldives. We arrived around 11 pm on an Air Sri Lanka flight. If you don't fly business class, expect a long line at customs. After clearing customs, we easily located the Shangri-La desk, where a friendly staff member greeted us. He assisted with our luggage and arranged a cab to the hotel, which was a standard sedan without any hotel branding. The hotel has extensive security, with two checkpoints to pass through before reaching the reception. Check-in was smooth, and the staff's English proficiency was adequate for a 4-5 star hotel in India. Our luggage arrived in the room shortly after, but we had to remind the staff to clearly note our room number. Our room was well-appointed, with four complimentary water bottles, which we greatly appreciated. The strong sandalwood scent was initially overwhelming but became more tolerable over time. The bathroom was nice, although the bathtub was a bit too narrow for my comfort. We were pleased to find a manual bidet installed in the toilet, although an electric and heated version would have been even better. The view from our room and the coffee spot was pretty, albeit industrial, overlooking the water. The espresso met expectations, although I'm admittedly a coffee snob. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options,

If you're looking for a relaxing weekend, look no further than the Shangri-La. My wife and I booked a weekend at the Shangri-la, and returned home fully relaxed and ready to resume the day to day stresses of work. The pool is well kept and the staff brings cooled towels, water and fresh fruit throughout the day. The Chi Spa is amazing! We had some of the best massages ever there. Shang's Palace and the Capital Bar and Grill are both delicious and the staff is very attentive. The breakfast buffet is enormous, and offers a bit of something for everyone, and again the staff are extremely attentive. We will definitely stay at the Shangri-La the next time we are in Colombo.

Good rooms, terrible service.
Like most Shangri La's the hotel is a pleasant place to stay. However the service here leaves much to be desired. Prior to my stay I had contacted the hotel about arranging to host an event. I was speaking with someone on whatsapp who suddenly stopped responding. I followed up twice afterwards but still with no response, so I gave up and looked elsewhere. Then prior to arrival I booked an airport shuttle as I was landing at 1am so didn't want to deal with the hassle of booking a local taxi from a foreign airport. I arrive and there is no car. So I have to withdraw local currency and find a cab. I get to the hotel and inform the manager on duty who assures me he will look into it and follow up. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and no one reached out to me to either apologize or follow up about why these issues popped up in the first place.

We've stayed at a few Shangri-la hotels and they never disappoint. We were at the Shangri-la for 10 days from boxing day and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Convenient location in Colombo with easy access to shopping mall and it's food court next door and walk-able distant to the train station amongst other amenities. Friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to help. Good quality and selection of food at breakfast and evening buffet. Loved our stay, will be back and would recommend.

The hotel is right across from a boardwalk on the ocean, so there are nice views. The staff are very nice and helpful. Rooms very clean and amenities are good. Buffet is good, lots of choices. Security is tight. We had a very nice stay! No complaints.
