It’s a wonderful hotel with spacious rooms. The traditional dinner was splendid while the breakfast buffet offers a great variety of food with some uncommon delicacies. The environment is also comfy with great views. It’s just that not so convenient in terms of its location. Takes a 10-min slightly uphill walk from the train station. Can be tiring in summer. However, shuttle bus service can be arranged in fact. Can ask for help with the arrangement at the information center on the ground floor near the bus terminal. The staff are kind and helpful.

Good place, wonderful dinner, friendly services, quiet and clean area.
This is a bad experience. It never happened to a hot spring hotel that can be treated like this.
When I saw the room map on Expedia, I booked a room with two beds on,But when I picked it up, The gave me a tatami room instead I booked. Fortunately, I already had a capture a picture what I booked. So I ask for change, they say NO. They said this is wrong pic, I actually booked tatami room.

Extremely bad service and experience
The hotel has their STRICT policy. They only pick up their customers from Hakone station start from 2pm. When you arrive the hotel. You Still have to wait. Therefore, you basically impossible to check-in on time. The check-in arrangement was bad. They just ask all guest sit and wait. Also, they served tea to all guest except us.
We reserved a room with private outdoor onsen. However, we found that a bottle of anti-insect concentrates was floating on the pool of hot spring water. Then we re-fill a pool of new one, but the control panel was not well-functioned. The spring water came and stopped back and forth. Therefore we asked for help but no one was really willing to help.
We finally took long time to figure out by ourself. It wasted all my time in Hakone trip. We didn’t make it to visit any spots.
I felt really disappointed. It’s not like the ultimate hospitality that I always feel from Japan.
And this hotel is totally over-priced. It cost US$500 for night, though with breakfast and dinner for 2. The meals were fair only.
