I have been wanting to stay at the Madonna Inn for years, my husband and I met at Cal Poly in the 90s and being the poor college students it wasn’t an option to stay there. A recent visit to see my niece at our old college was wonderful! Girl trip with sisters and cousins. What we loved the most was the fun and vibrant decor! It’s not flashy new but it felt unique, charming, and loved, with the different rooms and the beautiful grounds, forget the gorgeous scenery of the hills incl Madonna Mountain which is a great hike/bike or just the view. The pool and hot tubs (yes 2) were perfect and you can stay as late. We did not eat at the restaurants this time, though the Saloon we visited each day and the drinks were perfect, I wanted a mai tai so their Madonna rum punch was their signature mai tai like drink and it was perfectly made by different bartenders both nights. My sister got the Pink cloud let’s just say we had a great time! They had a jazz band playing both nights around 6 or 7 pm. Prices were also very reasonable for drinks. The room was the San Fransico, it was well decorated and the bathroom was also nice with two sinks though one did clog the night before we left so I’m hoping they fixed it. Overall it was clean, could use some touch ups, and while I slept fine, the bed could be time to replace in the near future. Not a deal breaker, we all loved our stay and we are already planning our annual return to Madonna and a new room to stay in.

We loved the beautiful rooms. The pool bar had one guy making food and drinks. It took me a 1/2 hour just to order a drink and another 1/2 hour to receive my sandwich. Way understaffed. That was disappointing.

Very unique hotel Awesome drinks, food and cake! Nancy the bartender is so wonderful. Front desk staff could improve In friendliness and being up lifting. Pool are was messier than usual -poor guests left empty bottles, cups and cans. Mattress could use an improvement

The walls were paper thin. The highway and our neighbors made it a miserable experience.the people in room 121 talked until 3 am then stared up again at 430. The room was dank and musty the room was dated and dark it was overall one of the worst experiences I ever had. But at leas the room was clean otherwise I would have left. We did leave at 5 am as we couldn’t sleep anywhere.

Registration staff was rude. Encountered different staff at check in and check out. Both rude. Acted like they were above us and that we were just tourists. The rest of the staff through out the facility were awesome! Very nice place to stay outside of registration staff. Oh yea be ready to pay a $35 "Resort Fee" when you show up if you book it through Expedia. Overall VERY nice place.

My 3 complaints: were the lack of elevators in all buildings. My second complaint was near room 129. The concrete walkway had raised 6 inch edge. It was not well lit and there was an inside corner that was easily tripped over. My wife did trip over it but was not hurt. Better lighting and maybe painting the corner, would helpAnother complaint was the lack of plugs by the beds and no USB ports. I forgot my usual array of plugs and extension cords and We had electrical devices plugged in all around the room On The plus side was the great atmosphere, huge rooms, quality beds, interesting decorations, excellent bathrooms. Good food, etc

Love the unique rooms and decor. The landscaping is just as awesome. The pool was so warm and fun. Food was average, especially for the prices. Beds were comfortable. It felt clean, just some collected dust and aging of the building.

Design is good. But it’s not comfortable and convenient. It’s only appearance. WiFi is terrible. The worst thing- I was walking in the area, talking on the phone. A stuff came to me, and he said he thought I was a homeless. The person I was talking to heart everything. Its weird and a shame. I didn’t feel good. I won’t stay here again. I don’t suggest any of my friends to stay here either.

The entire place was great but the room was not exactly what was shown in photos, there were holes on the walls and since the room was on the 1st floor we were unable to sleep much all night due to the cracking of the ceiling from the people upstairs from us and some noises of a laundry machine of something on the other side of the walls. Make sure you bring ear plugs if you want an actual good sleep.

This is a place you have to visit at least once in your lifetime! It’s unique, beautiful surroundings, and just a fun place. We went for our wedding anniversary and it was perfectly romantic and elegant without being stuffy or pretentious. We will definitely be back to stay in another room! The Madonna Suite was a great introduction to this place though!

The property is absolutely beautiful. We have been looking forward to spending a night here, for so many years. The check-in experience was quite interesting. Based on the layout of the property, we asked questions how to get to our unit. The woman who checked us in was not the friendliest. After she quickly gave us instructions to our unit, I asked her to repeat it again. She quickly responded with, "it's on the paper". At this point, we decided to move on, because she wasn't about to help us anymore.

Extreme letdown
Wife wanted to stay here for years. Since we were in area we staying in the old mill room which is supposedly one of the best as it's one of the few animated rooms.. Foe nearly 500 per night expected a nice room... This is not the case room is cheesy and just old and run down... Can hear all your neighbors conversations and people above you all night long.... Everything is just old and musty... formica counters falling apart. Water wheel leaks on floor between the beds.. Mattress is worst than a 50 per night motel... sheets washed so many times you wake up cover like you played with the lint filter on your dryer... Won't be returning
