“We have often traveled through this area but wanted to stay and explore for a few days. We couldn't have chosen a better location! The casita was an enchanting historical building set in a breathtaking area. Floyd was so welcoming and gave us great advice of things to do and places to see in the area. Definitely the place to stay if you want to explore the beauty of northern New Mexico.”

“Lovely home in a beautiful place. We enjoyed the screened porch and the bedrooms with their own bathrooms were perfect for our 3 adult children and their partners. It was a great "home base" for visiting our friends in Abiquiu and at Ghost Ranch, shopping in Santa Fe, and hiking at Bandelier and in the Carson National Forest. We also enjoyed some quiet days doing art projects and birding around the house. A highlight was heading out to the road late one night to photograph the incredible night……

“This adobe sits amid the most beautiful vistas in Abiquiu area. The artistic intent is evident in the charming adobe, from the hewn wood beams and trim, rock walls and walkway, stone shower, and SW decor. I was looking for solitude and found it here. Very close to O’Keefe museum, Plaza Blanca and Ghost Ranch. On clear nights, the constellations were too many to count as the Milky Way arched over the casita. Perfect for a getaway for 1-2 people. The host was very responsive to questions.”

“All in all Alicia's home was perfect for what I was wanting and needing. Alicia was great and quite prompt in answering questions I had prior to my arrival. When the listing says it's nestled in total peace and privacy, it is 100% true. I was traveling alone, so admittedly it took the city woman in me a night or two to settle into the quiet and remote location, but I ended up loving it. I'd definitely consider going back again! ”

“This is our 3rd stay at “The Getaway.”It’s a wonderful place for all ages. If you need a break and place to reset from the daily grind this is the sanctuary to do so. We enjoy the quiet to read and reconnect with family on the porch over a cup of coffee or a meal at the table. Our family enjoys playing card or board games or walks down to the river. We always come home refreshed! Abby is a gracious host who provides an inviting atmosphere for all to enjoy! We look forward to returning this Fall.”

“The view from this property outweighs any minor inconveniences. It is the most spectacular vista right outside your doorstep. The kitchen worked well, but I do suggest bringing some salt despite a full array of other spices and seasonings. The outdoor shower looked fun and adventurous; however, it did not work. So, the large bathtub had to do! Overall, this was an amazing stay. Highly recommend if you want to connect with nature and be in absolute solitude.”

“Host included lots of extras such as coffee, snacks, fancy soaps, lots of games, lots of towels, and a very well equipped kitchen. Living space is a little small but very cute with a fantastic view from the back window. Host is extremely responsive and sensitive to needs. “Having Family in Chama we have always stayed with family. This year we tried something different and rented a cabin. This cabin was beautiful and it made our stay more authentic. It had the perfect amount of beds for everyone with us and it was equipped with everything we needed. “A very nice cabin with excellent amenities. We were impressed with the attention to detail of everything. We found the cabin to be in very good condition and very COMFORTABLE.
