Shuttle was seamless, staff friendly, room large with very comfortable bed and small balcony. Whole hotel is a little tired. A lot of city noise through the night, to be expected in the city centre. Addis doesnt see many English speaking guests so there can be misunderstanding due to the language barrier. All staff trued to speak Englush but it is not their first language. All in all a great location and exceptional value stay

The customer service is amazing. The STAFF get the top Honors. This is one of those hotels that is on the edge of being a true Four * * * * star. What's missing or wrong?: *** Check for Roaches *** 1. ROOMS have Broken or Outdate appliances (Tv, Irons, Iron Boards, Dirty & Bulbless Lamps) 2. ROOMS need a deep cleaning of the fixtures and furnishings (old painted walls, furniture, old curtains, unsteamed window frames) 3. ROOMS need furniture to be refurbished. (ALL Drawers and Cabinets all need paint jobs and broken - or missing - knobs replaced) 4. ROOMS >> BATHrooms <<< need major improvement especially the Shower units. A.) The tub basins are scrathed to death. B.)Top hanging shower heads leak and DO NOT stream well. C.) Both sink & tub need drainage pipes flushed and cleaned. Pray the water does not stay clogged when the water runs. D.) Test the Shower Doors and Tiolets for LEAKAGE. Be prepared for the Great Flood when you take a Shower or Flush the toilet. The sealant and caulking work like they are ancient. 5. The DOORS might work properly if they had proper latches. Even the interior doors have to be kept closed by placing something heavy (or wedged) at the base.

All the staff were so welcoming and they really took care of me, and they especially took care of my elderly mum. I would definitely stay here again and I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

I was there for two nights. My first time in Ethiopia. GOOD - Nice ppl, eager to .help and please. Clean place and im hard to please. I loved the bed, so comfortable. They had a tub and shower with glass on both sides, I liked the style. Has a small elevator which was better than no elevator. Staff, front desk was all very helpful and polite. Maintenance was quick to reply. Airport transport was good and free. BAD - Some construction on a building next door kept the noise level high at times and some barking dogs but only during the day. The sliding bathroom window was not secure and the door plate was falling off which made it impossible for me to leave my room at times. And the safe was not working. So, I called the desk they sent maintenance, they fixed them all within an hour of my call. Bath tub was nice to have but Im 6"4" and it wasn't long enough for me to straighten out my legs and its a bit of a drop steeping out of the tub and the door stop is ill placed right where you step out. watch that first step. UGLY - I gave laundry some of my clothes to wash and they told me they would have them back same day but they didn't when it came time to leave I didn't have all my clothes and it stressed me out for a little while, they did find them in time for me to leave. The hotel is on a dirt road, and slums are your neighbors, so the surrounding neighborhood is not appealing. Conclusion - I would stay here again, the price was right and the ppl and inside was good.

Overall I had a fantastic stay at the Addissinia Hotel and would consider staying again. Location is great. Close to the airport and in Bole a pretty hip area of Addis. The free airport shuttle was great. I had some problems with my room (some lights not working, shower head broken and safe didnt work). Management put me in another room where everything was in working condition. Hotel breakfast is good. Enough variety. I also booked the driver, Josef, to take me on a customized city tour. He is a great guy and it was a good tour to see the main cites of the city. But the main selling point of the Addissinia Hotel is the amazing staff. All courteous, kind, helpful and attentive.

Very comfortable, feel at home hotel. Excellent service, polite & very helpful staff. Excellent restaurant, great maintenance. Clean, hygiene place. Loved our stay there. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Addis Ababa.

Komfortabeles Hotel

Ein Aufenthalt im Adissinia Hotel ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und haben auf einer Seite einen fantastischen Blick über die Dächer von Adis. Das Bad ist sauber und bietet allen Komfort in Form von Badewanne, Dusche, Waschbecken und westlicher Toilette. Das Personal ist ungemein herzlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Die Fürsorge beim Frühstück mit tollem Buffet mit frischem Obst, lokalen Gerichten, frisch zubereitetem Omlett sucht seinesgleichen. Die Lage ist in der Bole Area, damit nah zum Flughafen. Mit einem Taxi ist man schnell bei den Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie das Ethno Museum oder das Nationalmuseum. Ich war bei meiner Zeit in Äthiopien zweimal dort und werde beim nächsten Aufenthalt wieder dort Stop machen.

Good quality, convenient hotel. Rooms are of high standard, comfortable and very clean. Staff are friendly and the airport pick up is smooth. The location is a bit far from the city's main tourist attractions, but that seems to be true of most hotels where there is no natural 'city centre'. The location is good for the airport. It's functional and does the job. Very good pizza restaurant on the ground floor - freshly made and the best Italian food we ate on our trip. Sadly the hotel leaves the front door open all evening making the restaurant freezing cold after dark.
