Our room at the Melka International Hotel had an amazing view of the city. The hotel is close to major tourist attractions, including the new location for Yod Abyssinia, which is in walking distance. The staff was friendly, helpful and were expecting us when we arrived at close to midnight. When we purchased food at the restaurant we had difficulty charging to the room and it seems that they don't provide that service. We opted not to stay at the Melka for our entire trip solely because of the bathroom. Although the bathroom was clean, every time we took a shower a puddle of water would collect on the ledge at the end of the tub. The wall that the bathroom shared with the bedroom showed water damage that the hotel attempted to fix but that continued to come back because they did not fix the issue of water pooling on the ledge of the tub. This concerned us because we were worried about potential mold from the constant moisture. The bathroom also had a drab gray, plastic shower curtain that placed us in complete darkness when it was closed, so we had to leave the curtain open and make sure we did not wet the floor while showering. The reason why closing the shower curtain put us into complete darkness is because there were few lights and low lighting in the room overall. If the bathroom and lighting were updated this would be a wonderful hotel to stay in.
