This place was EVERYTHING!!! would stay here again in a heartbeat amazing staff amazing amenities beautiful view!!! Clear skies, this was my favorite part about South Africa. As far as the road we took a super small car up with no issues would’ve opted for something with bigger tires though. STAY HERE!!!

The property is on top of the mountain with great view. Peaceful! Great drink and dinner menu! We really enjoyed it! Winter time feels so special there. Surprised when I saw the hot water bottle in the bed. :)

I really wanted to like Camp Figtree because when I called to tell them that I won't be able to make the game drive which I have scheduled in the afternoon, they immediately knew who I was and I didn't even need to make an introduction! However, I can't say we had the best experience, and it was perhaps circumstantial because we arrived late at night and it took us a long time to drive through. The drive was very unpleasant because the entrance is small, dark (with no lights) and very rough. Our white car was completely trashed every time we drive through. We even saw wild Kudu's and monkeys through their narrow drive - and when you're a foreigner driving at night and see wild animals, its not exactly the "safari" experience you're looking for. Even after we arrive it was pitch dark (it gets dark after 6pm) in which I'd suggest the Camp (and I know they want to save electricity) but to welcome their guests with some light in the parking lot and the reception so we are not completely walking in the dark. We stayed at the tents - the rooms were quite nice but that night we were faced with a massive storm and it was so rainy and windy we couldn't sleep in fear of our tent crashing down on us. I know that won't happen - but I know other guests requested to be moved into the room the next day. Not sure if I'd go back again to be honest but I do like the food and the restaurant staff was great.

Tolle Unterkunft in Mitten der Natur. Ein tolles Restaurant mit wirklich sehr gutem Essen und Personal. Die Zimmer (Zelte) sind sehr süß und bieten alles was man braucht. Man muss aber beachten, dass es kein Hotelzimmer ist, sondern ein Zelt. Es war ein schönes Abenteuer und wir konnten viel Energie tanken. Die geführten Safaris zum Addo Elephant Park waren ebenfalls schön, die Reisedauer beträgt ca. 30 Minuten. Wir empfehlen ein großes Auto für die Anfahrt mit Allradantrieb, da die Strecke sehr uneben und nicht asphaltiert ist.

2 tolle Nächte über Weihnachten (24-26.12.24)

Wir hatten 2 wunderbare Nächte im Camp Figtree über Weihnachten. Das gesamte Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Zelt eine tolle Glamping Erfahrung. Der Blick aus dem Bett und der Dusche auf die Zuurberge war einmalig. Das Bett war ein Traum. Das Essen war ebenfalls durchgehend gut, egal ob Dinner oder Frühstück. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und die Terrasse mit dem Pool empfehlenswert. Die Tagessafari in den Addo war gut organisiert und das Mittagessen (Braai) war ebenfalls sehr gut. Sollten wir nochmal in den Addo fahren wollen, wäre das Camp unsere erste Wahl, wir würden wieder kommen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Wir haben uns hier herzlich Willkommen und unglaublich wohl gefühlt. Die Auffahrt zur Unterkunft war wie erwartet sehr abenteuerlich, aber mit unserem Citröen C3 (kein SUV) machbar. Die Lodge war sehr modern und schön eingerichtet. Sie ist großzügig geschnitten und die Aussicht auf die Zuurberg Mountains ist einfach unglaublich. Am 1. Tag schlossen wir uns direkt mittags einer Safaritour mit Norma an. Wir waren die einzigen beiden und es war eine wirklich tolle aufregende Tour. Das 3-Gänge-Menü am Abend ist spitzenmäßig. Nach Rückkehr im Zimmer war bereits der Heizlüfter an, es lag eine Wärmflasche im Bett, das Fliegenetz war zugezogen und die Vorhänge wurden runtergelassen. Wir fühlten uns wie Könige. Am 2. Tag haben wir die Zeit in der schönen Unterkunft genossen. Ich fragte für den Abend spontan nach, ob ein Candle Light Dinner oder ähnliches organisiert werden könnte, da ich geplant habe meiner Freundin einen Heiratsantrag zu machen. Dies wurde von Lara sehr flexibel und schnell organisiert. An der hauseigenen Feuerstelle wurde dann ein Tisch gedeckt, das Feuer angeheizt und wir erhielten das 3-Gänge-Menü von dort aus. Das Ambiente, die Aussicht und das aufmerksame Personal machten den Heiratsantrag unvergesslich. Worte können nicht ausdrücken, wie sehr wir unseren Aufenthalt genossen haben. Größten Dank für all die Bemühungen! Eines Tages kommen wir wieder - absolute Weiterempfehlung von unserer Seite!

A perfect stay

Such a beautiful lodge! We stayed in the luxury tent - which was perfect. The staff were all so helpful and friendly which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend. A real treat.

Surprise Jewel on the Mountain

We had the most marvelous stay at the Fig Tree. It far surpassed our expectations as it was not adequately described or explained in information available on the web. Staff was outstanding and a delight to be around; always gracious and helpful. We hope to return to the Fig Tree if ever back in South Africa. A must stay when visiting Addo National Park.

Wir haben uns in Camp Fig Tree we im Himmel gefühlt! Oben auf dem Berg war schon die Anfahrt aufregend und dann angekommen in einer Lodge, die ihresgleichen sucht. Außergewöhnlich freundlich und aufmerksam war das Personal, die Zimmer in den einzelnen Häusern ganz fantastisch und die Ausflugsmöglichkeiten zu Game Parks auch prima. Wir kommen gern wieder und empfehlen diese tolle Location!

Das war definitiv eine der besten Unterkünfte, die wir je hatten. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und ich kann das Hotel absolut weiterempfehlen. Der Weg hin ist tatsächlich etwas abenteuerlich aber es zahlt sich aus. Das Deck ist super schön und auch der Pool ladet zum Baden ein. Das Frühstück war super, ich habe nichts zu bemängeln.

Worth it!

What a treat! The drive to the camp was a little frighting with rolling hills on either side of the road, but once we reached the lodge, it was totally worth it! They have truly captured the beauty of the Eastern Cape with views to die for! Whether you are sipping a cocktail at the pool or escaping to read in a comfortable lounge area on the side of the mountain en route to your room, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful rest. The Tented camps are worth paying for especially with the bath overlooking the mountains. The food was top class and the service levels were outstanding, nothing was an issue for the tea!
