Escape to Red Fox Inn, a handcrafted four-bedroom retreat on the shores of Rabbit Lake in Aitkin, Minnesota. Sleeping up to eight across two split levels, this cabin pairs rustic, one-of-a-kind woodwork with room to spread out — a billiards room, a wood-burning fireplace, and a private dock right out the door.
The cabin takes its name from an actual red fox spotted on the land before it was ever purchased — and the foxes still make their rounds on quiet winter days. Nearly every custom touch inside was crafted by hand: the mantle was milled from a tree felled on the family homestead in Rice, Minnesota, and that same wood lives on in the stair treads, kitchen cabinets, bar, bathroom vanities, handrails, and tongue-and-groove ceiling. Nothing here came off a shelf.
