Excellent place and amazing service :)

The location is fantastic and the host is very generous and friendly. The place beats some of the top high end hotels in that part of the town. James and Nicky are doing an amazing job. handmade breakfast every morning is just cherry on the cake.

Hospitality, taste, and what a view!

Wow! What a beautiful house. We loved the view from the hot tub. Every detail was perfect. The owners have excellent modern tastes. We were treated to a delicious breakfast as well. The owner is an actual chef! We slept well on a very comfortable bed. Internet was fast. The towels were so soft. Couldnt have asked for more, and we were even gifted two glasses of red wine made by the host who is a wine maker! Wish we could have stayed longer. Class act.

Nice chilled out place.

Very nice place to yse as a base and travelling around. Is 7 min drive to Wanaka which is too far for walking. Bed is quite soft if you like soft beds. Great Jacuzzi!

Really enjoyed staying at Riverview Terrace! Our room had a large bathroom and a comfy bed. The place is nicely decorated and has a beautiful view of the rural side of Wanaka. James was an accommodating host from greeting us when we arrived late to cooking breakfast for us and leaving it out so we could enjoy it after breakfast hours since we wanted to sleep in. Breakfasts were delicious and very filling - you could choose from a menu of a couple of options. It definitely kept us going through our day. The property is only about an 8 minute drive from the center of town (where there is the famous tree in the lake, good food and shopping), and super close to the lavender farm as well. Highly recommend!

Romantic luxury house beneath the stars

We had one of our most enjoyable nights of our New Zealand trip in Riverview Terrace. James and Niki are the owners of the place and you can see them in the hotel (we had nice chats with them and other guests) , which is also their house. Though privately run, it certainly reaches a high standard of what a luxury hotel should be. Breakfast was delicious, with a variety of eggs, fruits and cereals to choose from, served with hot tea and coffee. The house is stylish and modern, accompanied by stunning view of mountains (as the location of the hotel is just a bit high up the hill which gives a nice view). Room has jacuzzi bath. Electric blanket available to keep you warm. We already can’t wait to visit again!

Great bed and breakfast in a local neighborhood

From our arrival, which happened to coincide with evening social hour, we were made to feel totally at home. We met our hosts and our fellow guests, compared notes on New Zealand sights, and got great insight into off-the-beaten-path options. The room and the view were great! Highly recommend! If you're arriving after dark, the sign is not lit. Just trust Google Maps!

Great stay at Riverview Terrace

We had a wonderful night at Riverview Terrace. Great stars from the hot tub, hiking nearby, close to town but far enough away to feel we could relax and regroup for our trip home the next day. Riverview was definitely one of the top places we stayed during our three week trip to the South Island of New Zealand. Hosts made us feel at home with lots of great recommendations of things to do and a wealth of knowledge about New Zealand food and wine...

We had a wonderful 1 night stay at Riverview Terrace. James and Nicky were great with their communication prior to our stay. Once we got to their property we were spoilt with their hospitality and the comforts of our room. Things like electric blankets, kettle and lots of towels were great touches. Their outdoor Jacuzzi was warm and ready to jump into. It was magical being under the stars. We were also given canapes and wine before going out to dinner which was so generous. James and Nicky were great with giving recommendations on restaurants, wineries and activities to do. They even took it upon themselves to organise us a cab for where we wanted to go. Their breakie was also top notch. This is definitely a highly reccomended bed and breakfast stay!

Good place to stay - great breakfasts!

Had a nice stay at Riverview Terrace. The breakfasts were the highlights of the stay! Phenomenal food every morning. The accommodations were comfortable and nice. The location is a bit outside the main city area in a quiet suburb. The location is ideal for the various hikes in the area and exploring the regions many wineries.

Wish we could stay longer

I can’t say enough about Riverview Terrace. The hosts, Nicky and James, were so nice. After a glass of wine and some appetizers, we headed into town for dinner (James was so kind to call and make reservations for us). The house was so warm and inviting. Our room had a door that lead outside to the fabulous backyard. The view of the surrounding mountains was amazing. The bathroom was huge with a large walk-in shower. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. My husband said that the house is everything he dreamed of for our dream house. Our only regret is that our schedule didn’t allow us to stay longer. And last, but not least, was breakfast. In addition to typical continental style foods, Nicky prepared delicious foods such as eggs Benedict. If we ever come back to New Zealand we will definitely return to Riverview Terrace, and stay for several days. Make your reservation now, you won’t be disappointed.

An outstanding Bed and Breakfast!

Riverview Terrace is a fantastic place to stay! This bed and breakfast is exceptionally well maintained, with upscale amenities, in a beautiful setting. Our hosts were excellent. James provided information on activities and made restaurant recommendations and reservations; while Nicky provided excellent canapés pre-dinner and amazing breakfasts. Along with the canapés, we were served wonderful wines from James’ winery. A great stay!
