The Darling Cabin, 60's Charm + Modern Flair

*2026 Calendar is open!* The Darling Cabin is located right on Alexandria’s Chain of Lakes, allowing you direct access to 3 large lakes perfect for fishing, water sports, and leisure! It's in the name, this is a darling cabin with a mid-century modern and vintage vibe. Enjoy your mornings sipping coffee or tea on the deck with a panoramic view overlooking Lake Darling. This cabin is within 10 minutes to Carlos Creek Winery (Bold North Cellars), Gathered Oaks, golf courses, bike trails, bars and restaurants, public beaches, and shopping in downtown Alexandria.

The space:
This is a cozy cabin, 768 square feet, that was built in the early 60’s. It is what you would expect when taking a “trip to the cabin,” but with modern flair and amenities. There have been many updates made to the cabin including new carpet, vinyl planking, hardware, lighting, furniture and mattresses (Novaform) that make it feel renewed, yet still preserving its 60’s cabin charm. You will have all you need to sit back, relax and enjoy your vacation in the heart of lakes country.

It sleeps 6 across 2 bedrooms and a sofa sleeper. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom, two twin beds in the second bedroom, and a full-size sofa sleeper, located in the main living space. The cabin has 1 full bathroom.

Enjoy modern conveniences like WIFI (500 mbps), smart TV, a completely equipped kitchen, and AC/heat units in both bedrooms and in the main living space. You will have direct lake access with a shallow and sandy swimming area, perfect for children, as well as your own dock slip. You will love that you feel right on the water and can look out to beautiful Lake Darling.

Other details to note:
There is no better “seat in the house” for the 4th of July fireworks display!!!
-A convenient safety feature is the cabin's keyless keypad entry
-This is not a remote location. We are located ten minutes from downtown Alexandria and are right off of a main county road.
-The lot is a tight squeeze! There are 3 parking spaces available.
-Safety note: There is a rock ledge, approximately 6ft angled drop down to the lake.
-Guests will have access to the entire property, which includes the driveway, cabin, deck, backyard, and bonfire pit. The Host’s pontoon is located on property and they do retain the right to walk across the lawn to board their pontoon.

To make your stay even better:
-1 beach towel per guest is provided
-Please bring your own firewood/fire starters if you intend to use fire pit
-Please bring your own charcoal for use of grill (grill and lighter provided)
-Please note: We do not have laundry facilities on site. If a washer/dryer is needed, there is a well-kept laundromat “Nokomis Laundry” located 3 miles away.
