「It is a great property in a lovely rural location, yet only a mile or so from Alston. Furnished to a high standard the cottage had all you could need for a comfortable stay (even though we picked a very wet 2-3 days). We enjoyed our all-to-brief stay, and look forward to returning, hopefully when the weather is better and we can enjoy the outside patio area with it's wonderful views.」

「We stayed at Derwent as a base for exploring Northumbria. The hotel is set within a large and beautiful green space. Very clean and modern interior. The restaurant (bar) served great comfort food at very reasonable prices. Recommend including the breakfast in the reservation - high quality english breakfast buffet to start each day. We will be returning for our next trip “up north”, hopefully in August. 5/5 stars! Loved it!」
