Disappointed
We weren't very pleased with this place. For starters, we found out upon arrival that we had to pay 6000 tenge for two people/two nights. Below is the only mention of potential fees: "Hotel fees The price DOES NOT include any applicable hotel service fees, charges for optional incidentals (such as minibar snacks or telephone calls), or regulatory surcharges. The hotel will assess these fees, charges and surcharges upon check-out." The staff claimed this was a newly imposed tax from Feb 2023. Well, I booked the hotel in June of 2023 and was not informed of this fee. It was also necessary to pay in cash. I've never had such a large charge not disclosed on Hotels.com. Aside from that, the breakfast had some issues (no toaster? terrible coffee, not ready on time) And the room was quite shabby and stinky. One positive was the staff was helpful with luggage storage both pre and post-checkout

Somebody smoked throughout all my stay
In general, it's a very good hotel. However, there is one serious downside. During all my stay my room was filled with cigarette smoke. When I complained to the receptionist, they were apologetic, but said that they have one person staying who keeps smoking despite all warnings, and there is nothing they can do about him. Air conditioning system spread the smoke to all rooms of that floor. They offered to move me to another floor, but it was too much of a hassle for me to move my belongings. It surprised me that the person who was clearly violating the hotel's rules and was warned many times was not evicted, even though all guests of that floor suffered because of him. I think this hotel should enforce its rules more strictly.

Tyvärr väcktes jag 06:30 varje morgon när busstrafiken kom igång. Hade rummet varit tystare hade det varit perfekt. Det finns antagligen tystare rum. Polaren sov som en stock.

Very beautiful breakfast room. Very friendly staff. The room is a bit too small so you easily hurt yourself to hard corners of the bed.

Отличное местоположение рядом с основными достопримечательностями - это основное достоинство отеля. Категорически не понравились завтраки и в целом обслуживающий персонал. Обслуживание в отеле долгое и равнодушное. Яичницу на завтрака умудряются принести холодной, хотя в зале было занято всего 2 столика. Фруктовая тарелка - это маленькая чашка с несколькими кусочками фруктов. А тарелка с выпечкой всего лишь одинокой заветренное пирожное

Two weeks in the Grand Sapphire
Every hotel in Central Asia I have stayed in had some kind of plumbing issue. This one was the hot water, you had to turn the shower and tap to full hot for about 10 minutes for it to get warm enough to shower. A word to the desk and it improved but still a big lag while it warms up. Restaurant I only had the breakfast. Presentation was 100% we are still working on the serving temperature.

Очень понравился гостеприимный край и поэтому пребывание в отеле оставило самые приятные впечатления Расположение не совсем близко к основным достопримечательностями но через день к этому привыкаешь а в остальном-скорее порекомендую этот отель для пребывания чем нет

Average hotel in a good location
My stay was ok in this hotel. Nothing special there. Room and especially the bathroom was very small. No proper desk to sit. No English channels on TV. The use of the sauna was at extra charge which I didn't expect. For the breakfast I had to go to an outside restaurant since the hotel restaurant was under refurbishment. Location is very good.
