「Casa Acero was amazing. It felt like home. The kitchen was stocked with seasonings and condiments. We cooked most nights and had everything that we needed. We enjoyed sitting in the backyard with wood burning it the outdoor stove. The furniture was very unique. The place was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. We will definitely return to Casa Acero.」

「We, along with 2 other couples rode in from Dallas to visit Big Bend. This was the perfect place to relax after a full day of riding. Host was helpful and quick to respond when we had questions.」

「House was great! Open concept which was nice to visit with everyone. Kitchen has some stocked food and spices which was great for first day arrival. I love concrete floors however it makes you hear everything in the house early or late. Would stay again when in the area.」

「Property is exactly as described - off grid cabin. Very comfortable place to come back to and relax after long days of hiking, canoeing, and explore Big Bend. Looking up at the stars at night was one of the highlights for us.」

「The property was about as close to Big Bend NP as we could get. The view from the front porch was spectacular (especially at sunrise) and the night sky was incredible. We even saw a small herd of javelinas on the property as we were leaving. The property itself satisfied our needs. The owners gave us great directions to this remote location and tips on what to wear and what supplies to bring. Overall a great experience!」

「A great option for a stay in Marfa. The house was exactly as advertised and spotlessly clean. The owner was in touch the whole time and very responsive. One shower did not get hot but as there was another it wasn't hugely inconvenient. It's on a quiet edge of town, which was nice for sleeping but still really convenient to drive, or a nice walk, to the center of things.」

「Enjoyed the space we had for 10 guests. Everything was clean but for the pots, pans & dish wear (at least to our standards), we didn't mind washing everything before we used the items. Hosts were most generous with all the supplies and linens left for the guests. We also liked the proximity of the grocery store and gas station, even though we only used once. Hosts gave excellent pre stay instructions which we followed specially the notes on shopping in Alpine before arrival, Lowes Grocery store...

「Traveling to Big Bend and stayed in this very cute studio. We knew what we were getting into with no real bed or private indoor shower. We enjoyed our stay for the time we were actually at the studio. It has most of the comforts you would expect. With that said; Our bodies(over 45 years)are just not meant for sleeping on a pull out sofa or trying to shower outdoors when the wind is blowing. Other than that, we were very cozy.」

「Rarely does anything, any place or anyone OVER-deliver on a promise but the Star Gazer does. The deck cooking area and banos with showers inside and out were my favorite part. The Airstream itself is cozy and clean and the expansive view was life affirming. We had one tiny problem when we arrived but the host picked up our call and quickly talked us through it. I’m giving five stars only because I can’t give 6.」

「We were two couples in for a special viewing night at McDonald’s Observatory. The house was ideal for us, and the kitchen island was a big hit, as was the front porch. Very clean, exactly as advertised!」

「We absolutely love this home! We’ve stayed 3 times over the last few years. It’s so quiet and walking distance to downtown. The view of sleeping lion mountain as you sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch is surreal. The stars are so bright! Sigh it was so hard to leave. Everything you need is provided. The home is spotless. The beds are comfy. We look forward to staying again soon.」

「We highly recommend staying at this property! We fell in love with the serenity the retreat offers and would gladly return. The drive to Big Bend is around 40 minutes making this location a good spot for travelers to the park. The retreat is fully equipped and we recommend a stop to Alpine for supplies before arriving. Much of what is offered by the owners prior to arrival helps in the planning process. The retreat is off-grid so be prepared to consider conserving resources. The stairs are...

「We enjoyed staying at this property, especially enjoyed the backyard. The check-in info said the property had a dishwasher and printer. It has neither. We made other arrangements for the item we needed to print. The lack of a dishwasher was no big deal for us but might have been if we had a bigger group.」

We were very impressed that all the toiletries were available and extra if needed, the dryer vent had not been cleaned in some time and should be checked often. We visited Far Flung outdoor adventures; the guide was great.
