The cabin was just perfect. It was very cozy, clean and well stocked with the basics. Great deck to sit on in the mornings and watch the deer ‘party of three’ each morning. Will definitely stay here again!

Amazing Stay

We stayed for our Christmas vacation. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to be able to cook at home. It was very clean and cozy. We enjoyed feeding the deer off the back patio. It was a great location for everything we were planning to do while we were there, definitely recommend this place to friends and family

Great views

This was our second stay at this house. We enjoy seeing the wildlife and feeding the deer and wild horses. The back patio has the most spectacular view and is our favorite hanging out place. The management has always been very responsive to any questions we have.

The stay was great! Kitchen was packed with everything you might need. First time I've never needed my kitchen bag I take for traveling. We didnt see any wildlife. Wondering if it’s bc of all the dogs that are penned up. They didnt bark much though. We will diffidently be staying again.

Great getaway.

Staying at Nell’s Getaway was was a great experience. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, the beds very comfy, plenty of extra towels, and the deer and wild horses came right up to the deck. My only concern was the amount of dust on the furniture, kitchen and bathroom cabinets and in general. I understand it is going to be dusty in the woods, but this was definitely built up dust. Otherwise it was amazing and very relaxing.

The cabin is beautifully decorated and everything you would need is provided. The covered front porch and partially covered back desk were wonderful to sit and enjoy the mountain thunderstroms while staying dry! I had wild horses, deer, wild turkeys, hummingbirds, and one bull elk visit during my stay. The cabin was very clean and much thought has gone into making your stay comfortable.
When I first opened up the patio doors, this bull elk was looking right at me! I guess he wanted to welcome me to the neighborhood.

Cozy Cabin

Exactly what we wanted! A quiet place with a beautiful view and a family of deer that were quite sure we were trespassing!! Having a fire on a snowy night was a bonus followed by the most beautiful sunrise …ever!

Best weekend getaway!

Had a wonderful time relaxing in the mountains at this gem!!! This lovely home had it all, nothing they didn't think about. The views are beautiful and had plenty of deer to feed....so bring some food and they'll come a running. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us.

Beautiful view

If you are looking for a quiet property with beautiful views of the Ruidoso area, this is a great choice. Enjoy your morning coffee on a large deck as you feed the deer who stop by for a visit. (They love carrots!) The inside of the property is nicely decorated and may be the best stocked of any property we have ever rented. They literally had stocked everything you might need. Beds were very comfortable. If rain keeps you inside during your visit, be sure and try the scavenger hunts in the property notebook. The notebook also has helpful restaurant suggestions for the area, but be advised that staffing shortages mean many area restaurants are keeping irregular hours, so call ahead. Our one issue was with the water pressure, which ranged from low to zero-literally. We were told the local water supply is critically short and they are having to bring in water from other areas. One night the pressure dropped to zero in the middle of my shower! We only had two adults, so we managed to deal with it, but if it were rented to capacity (6 people), this could be a real issue. Otherwise, you will really enjoy this quiet retreat.

Beautiful property!

We had a great family getaway at Nell’s. The place was refreshing, cool, clean, and quiet. It was just what we needed to finish up our summer and get ready for the hustle and bustle of the school year to start. Nell’s Getaway exceeded our expectations in every way. We were so comfortable here and we enjoyed the back deck very much. Most of our time was spent out there watching the deer come up to the porch. We will definitely be back time and again!
