No lift
The hotel is quite close to the central station, which is within 10 mins walk. The staff is very nice and speaks good English. The only problem of the hotel is it doesn't have a lift, and the stairs/ corridors are so narrow; which makes it very difficult and will take you lots of effort if you have a larger luggage

nice staff and good locaton, nothing more!
terrible soundproofing design of room. stayed at room No.1 on 1st floor. people walked by and rolling luggage are just annoying. was waken up by someone drop a thing on the ground.

I can only make a review for the single person room with private bathroom on 1st floor. Clean & spacious enough for a single person, but some work on the shower is needed. Although being in the city center the hotel is on the "quite" side at the Singel. The host is a great and fun to talk with ... Even more if you speak Dutch. Purpose of visit: Family visit so not a random tourist :)

Melvin was great from the on set of my trip. Understanding and customer focused service from him was much appreciated. He let me use his charger for my stay, very accommodating and honest. It was a little warm in my room which was surprising. Great thing is the windows open nice and wide. Great mattress and pillows. Thanks Melvin, appreciate you fully. Cheap accommodation in the heart of central Amsterdam, it’s true to its rating ( ** ) but the service and location was far superior.

Voor deze prijs een ideaal plekje voor een overnachting na een avondje stappen. Goede ligging en alle basisvoorzieningen zijn aanwezig, fijne regendouche ook. De gastheer vonden wij ook een toffe peer, dus tot de volgende keer!

Small apartment. Street noise on Saturday night. Otherwise it is quiet. Close to Amsterdam Centraal which makes for an easy connection to Schiphol airport.

I stayed this weekend with my Mrs and we had a fabulous time the guy on the reception was really nice so kind. Room was ideal for us clean and had a big to with sports channels. Shower was good, room wasn’t very big but it was perfect if there is 2 of you. We’d defiantly stay again and will be later on in the year

Good Location, but…
Great location, and a good hotel for short visits. The reason I give this hotel 2 is because, there were no towels in the room, the room was really cold, and had no heater. The view was into a concrete wall, and a tin roof. The room had no insulation, so you heard all the other guests really well. And when people came or left, the door slammed shut, which made the door into the room rattle. So I woke up a lot during the night, when people came and left.

Terrible Service
The room was extremely cold both nights of our stay. When we contacted the manager of the hotel for some additional assistance with heating for our stay. He told us he would provide a heater but it was never give to us during the stay. Both of the nights were extremely cold and we had no heat.

Worst experience ever!
No towels were provided and no extra toilet paper. When we entered the unit there was only half a roll of toilet paper there. The Host/owner stays outside of the property and left a phone # to contact him. When we required towels/toilet paper no answer. The washroom was tiny and horrible, sink is inside the shower and there is no standing space. Feels cloister phobic. The day we checked out we contacted host since he was not at property, he arrived and said you could have just left the key on the door why did you call me, when he didn’t even give us instructions in the first place. Usually all hotels I’ve stayed at you check out with an agent or front desk. He also did not acknowledge the fact that nothing was provided. Definitely not worth what we paid!! There was nothing good about this hotel except the view from the window! Worst experience ever!

Enkelt, men sentralt hotell.
Alt i alt et helt ok sted å sove om du ikke forventer noe ekstra. Kun tre rom på hele hotellet, og veldig lytt. Hadde enkeltrom inn mot en vegg på baksiden, så himmelen kunne skimtes noen meter opp. Kanalutsikten var nok på andre siden, men ga til gjengjeld mye mer støy fra folk utenfor på natta. Sov godt og kunne nyte det å bo så sentralt til alt rett utenfor døra.

This is a backpackers hotel. No usable sink. Tiny sink in the shower with no mirror. Linen was questionable. Good location near Central Station but disappointing. Video/TV did not work. One old towel provided. Loud when guests flushed toilet.

Terrible. The smoke smell was overwhelming, the comforter felt grimy. There was no toilet paper and we were kept up by what sounded like rats in the walls which is likely due to the presence of a large rat's nest outside the window that opened to the walls of 3 other buildings. We left after the first night and ate the cost. You could not pay me to stay here again.
