About this property
Large Cabin w/Hot Tub, Great Views & Trail Access, Firepit, Hammock, Game Room
Create family memories with a stay at Mountain Serenity, a beautiful luxury mountain home nestled in a private valley surrounded by wildlife and trees.
This house is part of the Mountain Serenity Rentals group, an elite group of family-owned properties providing the absolute best of what Angel Fire has to offer. Mountain Serenity Rentals is a small but mighty team started by husband and wife duo Eric and Cheryl in 2006. What began with one house and a small dream has since grown into our true passion: offering families from all over the opportunity to make memories in the mountains in beautiful, clean, up-to-date, and well-maintained homes. At Mountain Serenity Rentals, we intentionally market only a handful of properties so we can provide the highest level of service. We believe you deserve all the things you need for a great stay, and don’t want to nickle and dime you for them. Our homes are stocked with firewood for fireplaces and fire pits, propane for gas grills, detergent for laundry machines, and all the basics for kitchens and bathrooms. If you are ever missing something during your stay, don’t hesitate to reach out! We have gathered a tremendous amount of knowledge over the years, but actively value feedback from our guests so we can continue to improve and provide excellence.
Some things about the house we know you'll love:
**The house has a spectacular view of a private valley where all you see are trees and sky and wildlife, and the house is on 3 lots so it's secluded and private, yet it's so close to town- only 1 mile to the grocery store and 2 miles to the ski lift or golf course.
** Our house is kept very clean and furniture is up-to-date. We have owned and rented this home since 2006 and as a result, we are experienced in knowing what families want and need from their vacation home.
**It sleeps up to 10, which is ideal for 2-3 families. It has 4 bedrooms (2 kings, 2 queens) and a kids room with a curtain to close it off (with bunk beds). It has 2-1/2 bathrooms.
**We provide the backdrop for creating great family memories in your mountain getaway away from the big city, such as a hot tub on the porch, decks with rocking chairs and porch swings where you can have coffee or happy hour and watch the wildlife and enjoy the amazing views, cornhole during summertime, an outdoor firepit (and we provide a stocked wood pile too) to gather around while making s'mores and telling stories, a log see-saw for the kids to enjoy, sleds in the winter and access to the Angel Fire trail system just behind the house from which you can walk all around Angel Fire.
**The house is fully stocked for you with everything you'll need for your stay – linens and towels, hair dryers, detergent for washing machine and dishwasher, shampoo & body wash, kitchen soap, paper towels, napkins, spices and olive oil. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need – even if you're cooking Thanksgiving dinner! All you need to buy is the food!

BEDROOMS/SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: Our house has 3 floors so everyone can spread out and have their own space. The top floor has 2 bedrooms (one with queen bed and one with king bed) and a full bathroom. The main floor has a master bedroom with a king bed and full bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi tub. There is also a half-bath on the main floor. The bottom floor has a bedroom with a queen bed, and a kids' room separated by a curtain with a set of bunk beds. Bedrooms and bathrooms are fully stocked with pillows, linens/blankets, towels, shampoo and body wash, hair dryers and hand soap.
LIVING AREAS: Your group will enjoy spreading out in the multiple living areas in the house. The main floor has a living room with comfy furniture and a gas fireplace. The living room is part of a great room area connected to the kitchen and breakfast eating area – one of my personal favorite times is when you are in the house during a snowstorm – watching snow fall across the valley onto the trees is just magical. On the lower floor is the gameroom where families can gather to play air hockey or watch TV together or play cards, games or puzzles – all provided for you. The kids' room is a fun haven for the little ones with board games, stuffed animals and toys.
KITCHEN/DINING Creating and eating meals together is another way to create great family memories and the Mountain Serenity home provides everything you need. Our kitchen features stainless appliances, a double oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, coffee makers (regular and a Keurig), blender, griddle, crockpot. All plates, glassware, baking/cookware, pots, pans, utensils are all provided. In addition, we have a cabinet full of olive oil, flour, sugar, and spices to get you started. And on the back covered porch is a gas grill. For dining seating, we have several options – there are 2 barstools at the kitchen counter, a breakfast table that seats 4 and also a full dining room with doors that close for privacy and a huge table that seats 8 people.
ENTERTAINMENT INDOORS: We aim to provide the ingredients for everyone to have fun and be entertained while inside the Mountain Serenity home. The gameroom has an air hockey table, TV with DVD player, a card table and puzzles and games. The living area has a sound system with radio and connections for your smart phone to play music that way. The house has high speed internet and wifi. There's also a TV and DVD player in the master bedroom.
ENTERTAINMENT OUTDOORS: Outside, we aim to provide the setting for fun family memories. The back of the house has a deck with rocking chairs and side tables – picture your family having coffee in the morning or celebrating happy hour in the afternoon while taking in the mountain air and spotting wildlife in the valley most commonly seen around dawn and dusk. The front porch is covered and has a porch swing and table and chairs – great for watching kids play in the yard or sitting and staying dry while watching a rain shower or snow storm. There's a gas grill on the covered back porch as well for grilling in summer or winter. The front yard has a firepit with stocked wood pile for family gatherings in winter or summer. On the front porch is the hot tub, perfect for family conversations and relaxation after skiing or hiking. Relax on the hammock in the yard in the summer while watching the kids play on our homemade see-saw. It's so nice to watch kids explore nature in our huge yard and the woods beside our house – and in the summers here where the temperature is in the 70s, kids play outside all day long – like when we all grew up. In the winter, our driveway is perfect for sledding (we provide the sleds) and the yard perfect for snowmen and snowball fights. The Angel Fire hiking trail system is adjacent to the house and is great for family walks (the "Elk" trail is directly behind our house and there's a trail from our back yard to get to it). You can walk to the grocery store from these trails and walk all around Angel Fire from these trails.
LAUNDRY ROOM/MUD ROOM Entering the house from the garage is our mud room/laundry room. It has ample hooks for coats and rubber mats for boots. We have a front load washer and dryer with provided detergent and dryer sheets. There is another area inside the front door with boot mats and a hall closet for coats so everyone can spread out.
PARKING/GARAGE: When you get to the house, we have a garage to park your vehicle in, which you'll appreciate in the winter. Our house sits down from the road so the driveway slopes down to the house. We spend a lot of time and expense maintaining the driveway so that it's easy for people to get down and less intimidating for those who aren't used to driving in the snow. Our property manager will have the driveway plowed and cindered after a storm and you are able to request additional plowings at any time should you need it. There is also a parking spot halfway down the driveway or you can also park at the top.
Note: for your protection and ours, we have security cameras that monitor the exterior entry points at the front of the house and the rear.

It was Amazing! The home is absolutely beautiful very clean and everything we needed for our family getaway. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening along with making s’mores and just enjoying the cool mountain air from the back deck which has a wonderful view.
Very nice house, great location, excellent mamager
We really enjoyed our stay here and we are happy we booked it. The house is in great condition. The kitchen is well appointed, the view across the valley from the porch is peaceful.
We had a great stay. Fantastic kitchen with everything we needed. We loved the trail that ran behind the house. Hot tub and air hockey table were a hit.
The house is immaculate, roomy, and we lacked for nothing. Deer came out of woods daily and our grandkids had a wonderful time. I'd highly recommend it!
We absolutely loved this property. It was close enough to the store that it wasn't a big deal if you forgot something, while also feeling secluded to enjoy the time with the people you're with. The house had everything we needed for a few days stay. The hot tub was great. Grill worked perfectly. My husband especially enjoyed the hammock. Our only complaint would be that none of the beds were especially comfortable. Overall, we would stay here again.
Our family had an amazing time! Mountain Serenity is a beautiful home with so much room. There are large windows and deck with great views of the scenery and wildlife. And very convenient to the ski resort. The kitchen is well equipped for all meals!! Loved being able to sit all together at the large dining table. There were lots of games to play, and the boys loved the air hockey table and walking the trails right behind the house.
It was nice we enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife. The downstairs was a big plus for the kids with the air hockey table, board games, and TV.
The hot tub and outside fire pit was great!
We went in July to escape the hot Oklahoma weather. The house was great! We really enjoyed all the wildlife we saw from the back porch. House was clean and big enough for 3 families. Great location!
This was a great place for our family to get together and enjoy quality time. We loved walking the trails, sitting in the hot tub, playing games and air hockey! We saw a big buck right by the house the first morning of our stay!
Lovely location, beautiful view. I was a little disappointed that there was no complimentary coffee provided(very basic, I believe) Upstairs bed linens were not clean,,we washed them ourselves
It was a great place for a family get together. The views were beautiful, and the hiking trails were great. Hot tub was enjoyed by all. Kitchen was well stocked.
Some throw blankets needed a wash. Not a great set up for tv viewing.
The driveway is a bit daunting, but we got up/down ok.

Mountain getaway
We stay in Angel Fire once a year and this was one of our favorite cabins. Being right on the open greenbelt allowed us to see so much wildlife during our stay. We had a group of deer that came right up to the cabin several times a day that were eating straight out of our hands. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed and more. Cheryl checked in several times to make sure we didn’t need anything during our stay and was very responsive.
We had a great week staying at this place. It was clean and comfy. The kitchen has everything we needed, including a very well stocked spice collection. It was close to several hiking trails and the main town of angel fire. Perfect spot for a reaxing getaway. Communication was great. We would love to return.
Beautiful relaxing view from the back porch. Blankets were dirty on arrival but contacted owners and that was quickly fixed. Very appreciative of their quick response to the matter. Pots and pans could use updating. Kiddos were hopeful to use the hammock that was in pictures on the site , but we were unable to locate it. Also we kept hearing noises at night that we were very unsure about, but overall the stay was okay. Beautiful views, quick responsive owners, and nice location to walk and enjoy the outdoors, as there was a walking trail behind the home.
My Husband and I decided to get away with our children and my parents for a quick weekend to play in the snow. The wildlife we seen through the back window was an added bonus for my parents. The House was beautiful as well as the snow. The only disappointment was on the last night we wanted to get into the hot tub and the Water was 80 degrees and we didn’t didn’t get to get in. Also the water looked very low in it.
Plenty of space, very clean, amazing views, kitchen stocked with everything you need. The driveway was steeper than it appeared in the pics. We parked at the top of the driveway throughout our stay which was a little inconvenient with kids, ski gear, etc. Four wheel drive is a must in the winter months. Loved the hot tub and room for the kids to play. Beautiful house.
Part of me would like to keep this property the best kept secret on VRBO, though I can’t help but exclaim how wonderful of an experience our stay at Mountain Serenity was. For starters, the property had everything we needed including seasonings, games, soaps, and propane just to name a few. We arrived and were immediately able to relax without worrying about what we may have forgotten. The beds were comfy and the property was welcoming. Tucked away yet close to trails and the town, this property was the best we’ve stayed at location wise. The owner was incredibly responsive (responding within 10 minutes), accommodative, friendly, and welcoming. I hope to visit again in the future!!!
This house is perfect! It has everything you need amenities and supplies-wise. It has a beautiful view of the valley (we walked around the valley and had a lovely view of the mountains and slopes). The location is very continent to Angel Fire Ski Resort and the grocery store. The host is extremely responsive, helpful, and well-organized. I would stay again and would recommend to anyone.
Great property, we really enjoyed the home. Made lots of great memories with the kids before they head back to school.

Fantastic trip to see fall foliage
Beautiful Angel Fire cabin surrounded by aspen, pine, and evergreens. Had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing weeklong stay, including well-equipped kitchen, gas grill, fire pit, hot tub, game room, etc. Fantastic deck overlooking mountain meadow with deer and other wildlife (saw huge herd of elk not far from cabin one evening). Would definitely return.
