La Ferme des Ailleurs
10/10 Excellent
"Not a traditional hotel, but an excellent place to stay. Rooms were very clean, beds very nice and the whole set up with a bar on the grounds and park in the back of the property really great (especially with our dog). Easy street parking, a couple of 'fast food' options in easy walking distance (and more restaurants a short drive away). Only thing - if you do have a dog, some of the rooms are on the 2nd floor and the stairs are open backed and the flooring a 'metal lattice' type grating. No problem for humans with shoes, but our 40 kg greyhound found it a bit tricky. The hosts really tried to help find us another room on the ground floor but they were full. If we had known, we'd just have worked that out in advance."

"We needed somewhere to stay between Paris and Rotterdam, and found this hotel. It’s a little out of the way, but looked quiet and authentic which is what we wanted. Upon arrival (19:30) we were greeted by a gentleman asking “reservation?”, we said yes, but he said “no, no reservation” and walked off. We weren’t expected and no room was prepared. We unfortunately don’t speak French so were left wondering what would happen next. Fortunately a younger gentleman stepped in, explained there was no booking, but after some searching found the missing reservation (we’d already paid 3 days before). With that he prepared us a room, got everything ready and made sure we were settled. Told us where we could eat (5 minute drive to restaurants), explained breakfast and was incredibly friendly. As for the hotel and location, it’s stunning. Very well maintained, looked recently refurbished, authentic and very quiet. Beds were comfy, breakfast was just what we needed (cereals, croissants and fruit) and parking was ample. Very happy with our stay, and very thankful the young gentleman (Elliot?) was there on the night."

"The only thing it would I will suggest, is to explain which box needed to be used for the gate when getting to the protein after hours. Also to advice about the road closures, as the map had no info and it was difficult to get to the property in the middle of the night."
