“We stayed at Omar Khayyam Hotel for four nights, paying approximately $431, which is on the higher end compared to other hotels we used during our trip in Uzbekistan. Upon check-in, the first room we were given had a very worn and extremely squeaky mattress, to the point that even small movements disturbed the other person. “For those tourists looking for lobby lounge, bountiful breakfast buffets, and many staff looking after you , this is not your choice of stay. Bukhara is a well preserved city over 2000 years with the same layout, not multi-lane ,statue and fountain, metropolis. You don’t want large hotels in a city like this unlike Samarkand, which has a different history of the city. This is a family run boutique B & B in its 4th generation in a hidden side street right in the center (plaza) of town. Breakfast……
