"Onsen is superb, with lovely outdoor scenery. Male and female baths will swop venues for different timings during a day/night so that one can get rooftop view as well as lakeside view. Hotel is by the lakeside of Lake Akan, lovely surrounding. Dinner and breakfast buffets are sumptuous and have lots of varieties."

"The location, view of the forest from the river and private onsen bath were as described and very good. We were half board and the quality of the food in my opinion was really poor, so much so we stopped eating in the restaurant after day one of a three day stay. I can’t comment on the Japanese menu but the western menu was inedible. It wouldn’t be difficult to offer a simple continental buffet for breakfast."

"Location is amazing, very isolated (we were happy to get the pick up and drop off, as we don't travel by car). İt snowed over night and we had a nice walk to the lake and lakeside onsen - magical. The breakfast was wonderful, lots of different Japanese breakfast items with view to the snowy forest. However, we couldn't help feeling that our stay was a bit of an inconvenience to the host family, which was not really about language problem. This was the first time we have experienced that in Japan... "

"One of the most beautiful onsens I have ever been to. As soon as you walk in, there is a sense of calm and quiet elegance. The property is beautifully designed to maximize the view of the lake. Our room consisted of three large sections which can be divided with private screens. The service was outstanding too. Each breakfast and dinner, we dinned in a private room. A special thanks to Shayla. "

"We had a wonderful 3-nights stay at Lamp No Yado Moritsubetsu. We were two couples and took two Japanese-style rooms, both of which were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel very welcome from the start. The setting is beautiful—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by lush greenery. The hotel also has a beautifully designed and well-kept onsen, perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. We enjoyed the large community room with relaxing massage chairs and games. Breakfast was delicious, with many different dishes. The location couldn’t be better for hiking and sightseeing in the nearby parks. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy nature, warm hospitality, and a truly relaxing experience. "
