Our family had a wonderful time at this cottage. The setting is beautiful, peaceful, and pleasant, offering stunning views—we could enjoy lovely sunrises and sunsets, and even watch horses strolling leisurely right outside the window. We highly recommend this place. It is also very conveniently located for trips to the Highlands, Vík, and other areas. All in all, everything here was absolutely amazing!

We were very delighted to stay at Askot Cottage. Stayed here 3 nights and the beds were cozy, property was clean. Was cool to enjoy the horses in the field. They had a little cute shopping booth, very thoughtfully decored. The couple that owns this place is very sweet, and we would recommend this cottage to anyone!

A spectacular accommodation in an enchanting setting, thoroughly enjoyed and can’t wait to return. We arrived during a particularly bad winter storm and appreciated all the amenities, special attention to detail, and kindness of our hosts who were very attentive to our demands.

We LOVED this property. Tucked off the main road in the farmland, was such a well appointed cottage with everything we could have possibly needed. The views were spectacular, the horses and sheep were so fun to watch right outside the big picture window. We loved it so much that we talked about building a little cottage on our own property similar to it. I highly recommend for small families or couples!!

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful property. Communication with the owner was prompt and very helpful with questions we had. A small self-serve store on site was a bonus convenience. This is a great location if you are wanting to access the Highland areas of Landmannalauger or Maelifell (we did both from here) or some of the beautiful waterfalls along the South Coast (Seljalandsfoss, Gljufrabui, Skogafoss, Nauthusagil, Kvernafoss). We stayed in 4 different places during our 10 day trip...Askot was our favorite. Just a perfect place to cook your own meals, catch up on laundry, and explore various highlights of the region. The horses on site were an added bonus and added to the rural feel of this special spot.

The cottage was very nice and had everything you need. But no dresser and no freezer. Mini fridge was perfect since we did not cook but made sandwiches. There is a hot water kettle, nescafe coffee maker, a toaster, coffee pods, teapots and pans, cups plates etc It was very comfortable. We did laundry in the washer drier combo. It has an electric car charger upfront if you are driving an EV vehicle. The horses came by to meet us.

This place is amazing. The hosts are warm, kind, and welcoming, even giving us a tour of their facility (and the swimming horses!). We woke up every morning and went to bed every night watching the horses through our large window. The room was very spacious and included everything we needed—a stovetop, microwave, toaster, kettle, etc. It was a perfect spot to use as our home base for our adventures. Very calm and quiet, and close enough to both Vik and Reykjavík. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Iceland. I cannot recommend this place enough!

This was our accommodation for the third day of our third trip to Iceland. Everything was exactly as described—if anything, it was even better than expected. We could truly feel how much care and attention the owner had put into creating this place. The view was wonderful, parking was convenient, and the accommodation was warm and comfortable. The only thing we were disappointed about was not having the chance to meet the dogs. :)

An exceptional stay in South Iceland! The surrounding landscapes are beautiful, and even better if you’re lucky enough to have the horses come nearby. The hosts are wonderfully accommodating, and there’s a rare opportunity to visit the stables and watch the horses being trained up close. The cottages themselves strike a perfect balance between charm and practicality. They are thoughtfully designed without sacrificing a single comfort. And to top it all off, perfect location to watch the northern lights!

What a wonderful place to stay, truly a luxury brand new cabin with all the mod cons of a 5 star suite. The hosts were lovely and welcoming I’d recommend anyone to stay here, you won’t be disappointed by the level of comfort.

The best property, highly recommend!

We had the most amazing stay at Askót Cottages. The location of the property was perfect when exploring the south of Iceland and the Golden Circle by car. We were even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights 2 nights whilst at the property!
