Camere La Rugiada is located in a 1928 manor house that was recently renovated by the ancestors of the current owners. It is surrounded by a park with lawns, trees, and an abundance of flowers. Sometimes our guests spend many hours enjoying the tranquility of the garden. The property’s central location in the region makes it a convenient and ideal base for exploring not only Assisi—just a few minutes’ drive away—but also many other destinations in Umbria. Our greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that we can offer our guests the chance to discover the tranquility and beauty of Umbria’s enchanting landscapes, allowing them to savor its scents, traditions, and flavors. I am a librarian, and I like to think that I am able to share information about our region with my guests. Even if not strictly related to Assisi’s Franciscan heritage, but rather to its scenic, historical, and cultural qualities. The area is interesting because, even though it’s located on the edge of the Monte Subasio Natural Park, it allows you to reach the center of Assisi in just a 5-minute drive. The Rivotorto Sanctuary also houses the “Tugurio,” the ancient shelter that, according to tradition, hosted St. Francis and his first companions at the dawn of the Franciscan order.
