Perfect location

We have stayed in different spots every year in the OBX, and this was the first that has us thinking we’ll be back for a second stay. It was definitely the perfect spot for us and the house was great!

Great Location

This is our 20th year visiting Avon, by far Dolphin Delight is our most favorite home: great location, spacious, fantastic amenities and the owner is extremely hospitable.

Perfect House for a week in OBX

The property was clean and really well equipped. Everything you need for a large group. It’s a 2 minute walk to the beach and a 2 minute drive to the supermarket. Having the pool and hot tub made it even better for relaxing at the end of the day. Highly recommend staying here. The owner is very responsive and helpful.

Absolutely Perfect

Clean, well appointed, great kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals when you choose. Wonderful view of ocean from comfortable Adirondack Chairs - including Sunrise! Beautiful Sunsets from soundside decks! Don’t forget the pool and hot tub and you have everything you could ask for in a beach vacation!!!

Great Family Vacation Spot!

The house was perfect for our family! Allowed us to walk to the beach in the morning, come back for lunch at the house and then enjoy the pool in the afternoon! The host was easy to communicate with and very responsive to anything we needed! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a low key getaway with a larger group!

Small Clan Gathering

The Weather didn't help the first few days, but there was plenty at the house to entertain all. Pool, games, and even a short outing helped keep the kids happy. The rooms were Clean, spacious, and the kitchen had all the utensils we needed for our busy meals. By the end of the week, the weather improved so that we could enjoy the Short walks to the Beach. Thank you.

Delightful Family Getaway

We want to thank Jeff and his wife for making this a perfect vacation! Everything was so easy from arrival to departure. The home was exactly as described and there were absolutely no surprises. Plenty of room for our family of 9 to be together in the common area. Besides the beautiful ocean view every room was decorated in a costal theme. We all truly enjoyed the swimming pool too. It was so relaxing after spending a day fishing on the beach!

Absolutely Amazing

Dolphin Delight was perfection for the 7 of us for the week! We spent every single day by the pool for multiple hours, and many nights utilizing the hot tub. The house was large enough that we didn't feel on top of eachother and could all sit at the table for family dinners then in the loving room for a movie! We all would recommend this house to everyone! Thank you for letting us make this our home away from home for the week.

Dolphin DELIGHTFUL!

We had a fantastic week at Dolphin Delight. We were immediately happy with our choice when we opened the doors. It was immaculately clean and the beach was just a short walk away (viewable from the spacious decks). Jeff was very easy to get ahold of. We thought we had an issue and contacted him and he got right back to us (there was not an issue). We will be back for sure!

Enjoy Everything While the Sun Shines.

It's been over 50 years since our last visit to the Outer banks and what a change. We last spent two weeks at the Hattaras Sands Campground and this time we stayed in Dolphin's Delight. Five Bedrooms, A large Pool and a Hot Tub, Just moving on up from a tent was most enjoyable. The House was in the best condition for our arrival and the entire Area was ready for us to enjoy. The beach walkthrough was nearby and with the entire national park for a beach , we pretty much had it all to ourselves.The town of Avon had all that we required, Restaurants, Bakery's, Supermarkets, Gas stations, Bait and Tackle stores, Mini Golf and of course Souvenir Stores. Our Host Jeff wagner was available to answer any and all questions and always with a pleasant tone. Dolphin's Delight is the Perfect Family Getaway and will be enjoyed by many Family's in the Future. The Outer Banks is a Treasure that will be shared by countless families for eons to come. To All, Enjoy your stay at Dolphin's Delight....

Great OBX Experience

Dolphin Delight did not disappoint. The home was clean and comfortable. The pool, hot tub and game room added even more fun to our OBX activities. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to feed our group. The beach access is just one house away. DD is more than dog friendly. It is dogcentric. The owners thoughtfully provided dog dishes, dog mats and a space specifically for our furry friend’s food and water. The owner was responsive and helpful throughout the process. When we arrived we had some issues with the TV and the hot tub. Both were resolved promptly. We would also like to mention the delightful welcome basket we received upon arrival. In addition to the usual paper towels, etc., the owners provided playing cards, beach toys, note pads (great for making Food Lion lists and keeping score during card games), trash bags, OBX info, etc. A family wedding will prevent a 2025 trip but if we return to OBX in 2026 we will definitely consider Dolphin Delight

Ocean Views Bliss

My family ranging from 3 years old to well...retired, enjoyed a wonderful stay at Dolphin Delight! This house had everything! I brought things like extra hand soap and muffin tins, but all was provided. There are several large serving trays for charcuterie by the pool or large dinners, and service for at least 8. I was pleasantly surprised! We stayed while a hurricane was offshore. It was wonderful to have the pool, especially in the back of the house, for windy days. The over wash from the ocean really came up a couple of the days. The folks across the street (Ocean Side houses) had trouble parking their cars out of the water and loading unload in knee deep water. We were high and dry at Dolphin Delight! We also received texts from Jeff to alert us to the possibility of high water and rip currents. Linens provided were also already on the beds at arrival. Such a nice touch after a long road trip. This property exceeded expectations, and I would highly recommend!

Exceeded our Expectations

We stayed as a family of 6 at Dolphin Delight over our kids' spring break and had a wonderful week in this home. It has that classic OBX feel and even though it's described perfectly in the listing and fit all our needs -- it still exceeded our expectations. The home was exceptionally clean and well kept. You can tell the owners take pride in the home. The location is perfect -- just a few minutes from the grocery store, restaurants, and seafood markets. The beach access is only two houses away -- so close! The kitchen has everything you need to cook full meals and the appliances are new and work great. (If you come with small kids, I do suggest bringing your own plastic plates/cups for the little ones.) Linens (sheets/towels) provided as well as a storage area with volleyball/basketball and sand buckets. We rented chairs from Island Cycle (couldn't have been easier - they dropped off/picked up) as there aren't beach chairs provided. BUT, the pool area and deck have plenty of nice seating. Pool and hot tub were great. Kids had fun playing sand volleyball in the back. Communication with owner was easy and timely. Check-in/check-out was seamless. It was simple and perfect and exactly what we wanted. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

The perfect home for our family beach vacation

Dolphin Delight in Avon was the perfect house for our family beach vacation! The home was bigger and nicer than what the pictures portrayed. The house was very clean and well kept. There was plenty of parking space and the house was on a quiet street. A very family friendly area. The house is very close to the beach. Just a couple minute walk. The house was well stocked in the kitchen for all your cooking needs and had plenty of room for a couple cooks at the same time. The living room was spacious with comfortable couches and chairs. The dining area had a long table to fit our extended family of 12. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It was nice and helpful that most of the bedrooms had private bathrooms. The washer and dryer are newer and worked well. We LOVED having a pool and hot tub at Dolphin Delight!! Such a treat when our kids were tired of the sand but still wanted to swim. We loved the 2 decks on both sides of the house and that each bedroom had an entrance onto the decks. There was plenty of seating on the decks- some out in the open sun, and some covered with shade for whatever you wanted in the moment. We can’t say enough about the area of Avon. We truly felt like we had gotten away from all the hustle and bustle of life. The extra hour drive south past the popular locations of Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head was worth it! You have all you need for vacation in Avon. Very family friendly! We would definitely return again!!
