Very far away from the train station. Hiking was 35 minutes to to hotel. Only one staff member worked in there. No housekeeper. Very dark building inside and outside, but the staff she was nice and friendly. The hotel doesn't have in-room dining service. Only available during breakfast time. There is no grocery store nearby by hotel. You need to buy food, water, etc advance before the hotel arrives.

The hotel room was spacious with balcony, with view of the forest. However, there was no hot water for showering on the night we arrived. It was at 8:30 pm, so I went to the reception desk since the letter that we were given during check in earlier that night stated that the front desk was staffed till 9:00 pm. There was nobody there. We called their service number and spoke with the lady owner who said that they would send their "colleague" who lived in the building that night. Nobody came. We sent an email that night, as well. The next morning, we spoke with the receptionist who already knew about the issue before I could explain to her. She was apologetic and said that the maintenance person never answered their call last night, but responded that morning, saying that he would come that day. We asked if we could move to a different room, but she said that there was no other available room, eventhough the other rooms were still available since she was expecting other guests to be checking in later that day.
The receptionist was the same person during our entire stay. Although nice and professional, she was not local and admitted that she was just covering for the holiday and knew little about the area, especially the ski condition. However, she mentioned that for the past 5 years, there had been no snow during the month of December.

The place seemed a little like something out of a horror film. The room itself was nice (the balcony door was broken which was disappointing) but the actual facility is nothing like the pictures. I never saw a staff person (not sure if there is even breakfast available) and the place was completely dark and dead even though I got there during the supposed check in time. Definitely bring water and snacks for your stay.
Perspective: I’m from the US and my partner is Austrian. We both thought this was one of the worst places we had ever stayed in the developed world.
The room we stayed in looked nothing like the online photos. The carpet was ancient, stained and smelly both in the room and halls. Furniture was likewise decades out of date and not in good shape. We walked around the different floors and saw no signs of the updating claimed on the description. This is a large, impersonal hotel that was probably built in the 1950s with minimal updates since. The rooms were clean enough, and we slept okay, but given the distance from town this should only be considered as a last resort at a budget rate.
The breakfast was truly awful. Austrians are quite proud of their breakfasts and my partner was ready to throw a fit with the quality of the food and service. The breads were soggy, fruit was mushy cut up apple, the bacon inedible, and with juice/water glasses only a couple of ounces I had to stand the serving table repeatedly filling my shot glass to get a solid drink of water.
The man and woman at the front desk were very friendly and that was perhaps the most positive part of our experience.
