The hotel itself is a very nice old building with 14ft ceiling in the upper floors rooms. The lady at the front desk was extremely polite and helpful. Making sure that we had everything we needed in the room etc. Honestly it was WELL WORTH the price. The bed was a little firmer than what I am used to, but it was comfortable.

the room we had certainly could of done with a freshen up walls, fan and blinds were dirty and paint peeling off the wall. the exhaust fan needs to be replaced as it does not extract steam from the bathroom and plumbing is very noisy. Bed was comfortable.

The Ansonia on Lydiard is a very lovely boutique hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel has plenty of charm and Cameron was extremely helpful when we checked in & out. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again.

The only problem we had was the lack of free parking. Very annoying with 1 hour parking during business hours. City of Ballarat should provide Ansonia patrons with an exemption code. We travel to Ballarat regularly and this is a barrier to us staying at Ansonia.
