"This is our second time staying at The Charlotte Hotel. The rooms have a nice traditional feel. Quiet location yet right in town with an easy walk to restaurants (including the new Bread & Butter), shops, and the waterfront. On street parking is plentiful and we've been able to park right in front of the hotel each August stay. Onancock is a peaceful place to stay on the Chesapeake Bay. A great value...we would 100% stay here again."

"We took 2 rooms during a road trip, arriving close to midnight with our extended family of 6. We only stayed one night, mainly to rest, and overall it served that purpose very well. On the positive side, the place was clean, The beds were comfortable, and it was a very good value for money. We were able to get a good night’s rest after a long drive. The only downside was the noisy air conditioning, which made it a bit less comfortable during the night. Overall, it was a good short stay and met our basic needs for a stopover (at that budget price!)"

"My family and I vrbo twice a year so we can all get together. I have a feeling this will be our new summer rental. It was perfect.. on the lake and the views were awesome. Floating in the pool looking at the lake! Kids fished and went kayaking. It's a great place for a family . There's something for everyone."

"We had a wonderful stay! The hosts were absolutely excellent and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were so warm and accommodating that we truly felt like part of their extended family. One of the highlights was when they brought over fresh clams and oysters for us to enjoy for a clam bake dinner—such a thoughtful and memorable touch!The property itself is lovely, and if you’re resourceful and willing to explore, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the area and make the most of your stay. The property is located in a very rural area, so if you’re looking for a quiet getaway, it’s a great fit. There are lots of beautiful back roads with very minimal traffic, which makes the area especially nice for running, biking, and exploring at a slower pace. I would just recommend setting expectations around the location. The nearby “town” is very small and doesn’t offer much in terms of restaurants or activities, so having a plan for outings is helpful.Also, the water directly off the property isn’t really swimmable. You can kayak out to the sandbar for a better spot, or drive a bit to reach an actual beach. For us, this wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s definitely something future guests should know when planning their stay.Overall, the hospitality was truly special, and we’re very grateful for the wonderful experience!"
