Absolutely Lovely Family Run Boutique Hotel The family are lovely and could not be more helpful! Jo,Pete and Sally made us feel so welcome from greeting us on our arrival to organising a lovely breakfast! The location has stunning views over the surrounding countryside with the mountains framing the picture ! Beautiful!

Loved staying at Matuka - breakfast was wonderful, the ground were beautiful, location was convenient, and the room was so clean and comfortable. The weather was quite rainy while we stayed there and it was so nice to have a comfortable place to relax and still enjoy a nice view. Would absolutely come back and recommend to anyone staying in Twizel!!

Amazing lodge and lovely hosts. Highly recommend staying here. We stayed for 3 nights and the proximity to Mt Cook area was excellent (about 45 mins). The lodge was peaceful and included a lovely breakfast. Plenty of space to relax in the large lounge room in the lodge. There are a number of local places to eat dinner at (a short drive away).

A Little Slice of Heaven

This place was an absolute gem, as were the hosts. I felt like I'd come home. The property is stunning with mountain views and a duck pond. The room was lovely. The common area was cozy and a wonderful place to unwind. I only wish I stayed longer.

Extraordinary service and good accommodation

Great accommodation close to Twizel. Excellent breakfast - all home made. Rooms were spacious and bed extremely comfortable. Bathroom furniture could do with a refurb. The outstanding feature were the positive energies of the hosts (Libby and Geoff). Libby was so caring for all her guests and ensuring that they were maximising their experience of the area - nothing was too much trouble for her to try and organise or to suggest.

So quaint and secluded. A mini oasis. Mel was amazing. Hostess with the most-est. She suggested we do an early breakfast to get to Hooker Valley Trail early and she was so right for that! Rooms were immaculate. Refreshments and breakfast were immaculate. I wish we stayed more than 1 night.

Not recommended for couple as lacks privacy nor families as too small! Only one long dining table for 10 and wonder how it qualifies as a lodge! Only 5 rooms and breakfast from 8 am to 9 am!!! No fridge nor even kettle plus! Checkout is at 10 am and a loud knock on the door to confirm; hardly hospitable act let alone service. Over priced at NZ$500 per nite! Expedia needs to update.

Nice owner and star view. Would def go back again!

The hotel owner Jo and Pete were very nice! The reservation system went wrong, our room was given away and the hotel was fully booked. Jo and Pete arranged a cozy room for us upstairs of the house they live right next to the lodge and they didn't charge us anything. Jo also prepared a bottle of wine for us. The stars at night was amazing. We just sat on the deck chair watching the stars and drinking wine. It was a very nice experience.
