Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, vermutlich weil außer dem Besitzer und einer Reinigungskraft keiner im Hotel beschäftigt ist. Ich hoffe, dass sich das bald ändert, damit das Hotel nicht verfällt. Das Frühstück war in gut, wenn auch nicht sehr abwechslungsreich. Aber für einen kurzfristigen Aufenthalt in Ordnung."

"Pension Barbara is a very cosy and clean pension right next to the paths leading up to The Brocken. The hostess was very sweet and attentive, and we had a good stay. Schierke as a town is a bit dated and quiet in the autumn, when we visited. Is was difficulty to find a place to just have a couple of drinks etc. The national park, Brocken and paths are all excellent for a short hiking-holiday. Great nature, chalenging paths (if you want it), nice restaurant on the summit."

"Wonderful staff who spoke English or would find someone to help us. Parking ramp right next to the hotel. Hotel right next to the Rathaus and walking distance to beautiful pedestrian area."

"We stayed in one of their tiny houses. It was very clean and nicely decorated. There was a sturdy version of a double-bed bunkbed style, a nice bathroom, a kitchen with a tiny dishwasher, a dining room/sitting area. Plus there was a lovely furnished patio area with each tiny house. There was an air conditioner (did not get it to work), but there were also automated loft windows which were fantastic at cooling down the place. Along the beautifully landscaped path to the tiny houses there was a grass area to air-out the dog and a small playground for small children. The hotel breakfast was amazing with various pâtés, fish, bacon, eggs, yogurt and fresh fruit and fresh bread. It was staffed by an amazing group of ladies. The restaurant/bar was pretty and relaxing. Well done!"
