The delightful port town of Bideford, 10 miles, has a good selection of town amenities, restaurants and a weekly market. Take a boat trip to the nature reserve at Lundy Island or explore many pretty fishing villages including nearby Clovelly, Instow and Appledore.

Walkers can join the coastal path or why not cycle or walk the famous Tarka Trail? Great Torrington, known as the ’Cavalier Town’ from the Civil War of 1646, is just 7 miles and has a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants, a delightful pannier market and the highly acclaimed Plough Theatre, which is sure to be a real delight for any and all guests.
