Staff very helpful. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The food served from the menu until 8pm was excellent. The only option for breakfast was a typical fry up. Not my taste.the could do porridge. Pastries only take a few minutes in an air fryer. Even toasted teacake

Room was generally fine. Bed was very soft but I slept well. Two issues were: 1. There was a general weird smell in the room and corridors, as if there was a blocked drain somewhere. Leaving the extractor fan on improved things quite a lot. 2. The bathroom was absolutely freezing. The floor was ice cold and could only bear standing on it by using a towel. For the money it was ok tho.

Friendly and welcoming staff. The check in process was efficient. Plenty of parking outside the venue. There is a code to get in the accommodation side which makes it feel safer. The rooms were very clean with fresh towels and toiletries on the bed . Comfy beds , very good value for money .

Great relaxing stay

Warm and friendly welcome. Have stayed here previously. All areas are very clean.Bed and pillows really comfortable.All the staff....and the locals very welcoming and very friendly. Parking permit easy to use. Had breakfast and a few evening meals, would recommend.

I booked the Wyken Inn as was dropping my daughter to Warwick Uni & didn’t fancy the long drive home the same day so going on the basic look of outside, just expected a ‘rough & ready’ room but I was so so impressed. Don’t be put off by the look of the outside, I had a standard double room & shower room which was double glazed, had heating I could control & the room, bed & shower room could not have been cleaner even if I’d cleaned it myself. I was so impressed & will be booking again when I go to visit my daughter. The manageress & staff could not have been nicer . The only negative thing, which didn’t matter to me, was it lacked ‘curb appeal’ but, having not long taken over, I’m sure that can be improved. Best of luck with your new venture.

Pros: Very comfortable bed and comforter with extra pillows. Simple small room with nightstands, small desk, open closet and basic bathroom. Clean. Nice towels, bath gel. (not shampoo/conditioner). Bar simple with fair prices. A good value if you don't prefer frills. Cons: No elevator, only stairs, no accessible rooms provided. Two rooms on the first floor not accessible: narrow doors, low toilet, small bathroom. Small shower with very narrow opening <20", if you are a larger person, difficult to get in. No shelf in bathroom or shower for toiletries. Room does not have coffee/tea maker frig or microwave (appropriate for price). Instant coffee/tea available in bar, no real coffee available. During management transition, food unavailable in evenings, so no feedback. Breakfast good, (more expensive under new management). Recommend hotel not allow pets in future, room smelled of dog on arrival. Summary, excellent price for simple, no frill accommodation in Wyken which very much needed a local hotel alternative. Great location with walkability to local stores and pub. Uber accessible in minutes, bus stop close. Would recommend and visit again.

You pays your money and takes your choice

Good stuff first: staff very friendly and helpful, fussed over me at breakfast; the breakfast is really good value, well cooked and the bathrooms have been recently refurbished, so bright and clean (could do with a few hooks to hang things on though). Now the not-so-good. You are yards from a dual carriageway, so don't open the windows unless you like noise, the car park is laid out for minis, so people with SUV's and 4x4's stand out as antisocial, I literally couldn't open my door in the first space I tried, you enter the hotel via the service entrance, so along with the laundry and rubbish, rooms 1 & 2 face the car park, so have a bright white light on all night which the blinds do not block out (should really have light proof curtains) the room was very dingy and unfortunately smelt .... badly; it should have a professional deoderising deep clean. In essence, it has all the basics, but leaves a lot to be desired.

As a Coventry born visitor...I knew the history of the Wyken Inn...and I like it.The only thing I would recommend is more hooks for hanging 'things'..in the toilet shower room and possibly a drawer unit for clothes in the rooms...otherwise... Excellent.
