“We really enjoyed our week at Sweet Escape. The house was clean and spacious, beds were comfortable, and we loved the outdoor areas (pool, pergola, beach bed, and beach). Mark was absolutely fantastic! He made us delicious dinners and hearty breakfasts to start our day. We took care of the shopping, but he guided us at the grocery store and made recommendations. There were plenty of fun activities to do within a reasonable driving distance of the house (Black River Safari (5 min), Appleton Rum……

“Wonderful villa with a great host and onsite staff. Walk to a quiet, beautiful beach. Plenty of room. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms! Big plus for a big crew! We had the chefs prepare two meals and both were extraordinary! Full kitchen to prepare other meals. Five star visit!”

“The "Great Escape" is a lovely place for a vacation. Far off the beaten (touristic) path, quiet, peaceful, with a large Pool and a lovely seaside terrace. Shane is a great cook, we enjoyed those meals so much.”

“I loved everything about this home. The other reviews speak about all of the positives, so I’m not going to rehash those. Just know that the beach is great. The pool is great. The rooms are great. The staff is wonderful. The food was phenomenal. It was one of the most relaxing stays that I have ever had. If you want some negatives, I’ll give you two - there were a lot of bugs (welcome to a tropical island) and the road to get there was pretty trash (welcome to Jamaica). These were really minor……

“We stayed at Villa Optima for 22 nights. The host Paolo was wonderful. He responded essentially immediately, and provided extra items for the house whenever we asked. He helped us buy fresh fish and rum and other things we needed. The private pool was very pleasant, and has some nice shaded areas so you can hang out there for a long time. The beach was just 50 yards away. It is a sandy beach and you can easily swim in the ocean. Usually there was no-one else on the beach, it was never crowded.……

“A large group of us Peace Corps workers stayed there for a weekend and LOVED it. It is perfect for a large group. The communication was great and the staff is very nice. The local contact, Vaughn, could not have been more helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back! ”

“We booked the house for 4 - 5 people and were looking forward to a 4-day stay. Unfortunately, the object does not fulfil the advertised and expected claims in any way. Due to the very unclean condition of the house and pool as well as the many damages, we ended our stay after 1 night. Examples: The pool was only half full with dirty water; the barbecue is rusted and therefore not usable; AC worked only in 1 of 4 rooms; TV or remote control does not work; furniture and lamps are partly……

“My husband, a good friend and two of our grown children made the trip for a 5 night get-a-way. We had arranged most of our travel arrangements prior to arriving thru referrals from the owner, Bradley. Our Driver, Dexton, picked us up from the airport and we made the 90 minute trip to the house. We stopped along the way at a Mega Mart for supplies. It was a long but scenic trip from Montego Bay. “Sugar & Spice make Turtles Nest feel like home. We loved the pool and being able to eat breakfast outside each morning. It was very helpful to have bathrooms inside each room as a family of 5 being able to come in and shower quickly to make it back out to our next stop. The homemade breakfast each morning was amazing. Peta-Gay, Vincent and Zeb are very kind and thoughtful. Our cleaner lady who came was a Godsend who helped when my baby got sick. Next time we are in this area we will for sure……

“The Wi-Fi did not work so the TVs did not work. The water barely work so I took a shower maybe two times out of my six day stay people are able to come in to the property as they please they had a photo shoot while I was in there it was bad, but the property was nice”

“This property is not fancy, but it is clean and peaceful. The staff is excellent and the food is delicious! We spent most of the time relaxing on the gorgeous beach. It was so nice, we didn’t want to leave! Maxine, Dunkley, and Ruchelle were exceptional! I suggest bringing an extension cord, as there are not many outlets. A collapsible cooler would also be handy as there is not a refrigerator in the room. We will definitely be back!”
