“The staff were very friendly! We felt welcomed the moment we walked in. Rooms were exceptionally clean. We stayed one night to visit the 250 Sail event in Cape Charles.”

“The pool is the cleanest area of the hotel, water would not drain in the tub while taking a shower. Blankets and sheets were stained and not clean at all, looks like just the beds were made.”

“The bay is beautiful, and as long as you understand that these are floating campers, this is a nice spot to stay. The communication was not great with the hosts, and I sent a few messages without reply. The unit was not dirty, exactly, but there were hairs in the bathroom that were missed in cleaning. It wasn't impeccably clean.”

“The beds were comfy. The dining are is well designed and the waffles were yummy. You do need to get to breakfast early. The pool was fun. Having a fridge and microwave is very convenient. The location is great. Parking was simple. The staff were attentive and friendly. The pool area would be next level with the addition of a few palm plants. Overall we were happy with our stay.”

This trip, we decided to try Birchwood Inn instead of our usual accommodations. Upon arrival, the office sign indicated it was open, but the door listed three different phone numbers to call for assistance. After finally reaching someone, I was informed that our room key had been left in the mailbox beside the office door, meaning anyone could have potentially……
