We had a large family group come in for Marine graduation and had a wonderful stay. This home is beautiful and was furnished, clean and welcoming. Mrs.Betty was so kind and thoughtful before, during and after our stay and was always available if we needed her. I’m so thankful to her for the time spent in her home celebrating my son’s accomplishment and visiting with family. We would highly recommend staying here at her lovely home.

Everything that you need in one spot

This is a halfway point between my daughter in Raleigh and us in central Florida. The house was spacious, the kitchen was huge and well equipped, and the neighborhood was very peaceful. It was a short drive to restaurants and groceries. There is a dock on the river for fishing. Its everything that you need in one spot!

Great place

Enjoyed our stay for my son’s graduation from Marine Corp boot camp at Parris Island. Just a 22 minute drive to MCRD PI. Ms Betty Jane was prompt to answer my questions and was very nice. The back yard and dock was awesome. The sunrise in the morning was beautiful!

Riverview

Well the place was centrally located to where we needed to go. The house is in need of a few cosmetics. We thought the place needs a good deep clean. Some things we noticed was cobwebs on the ceiling and walls. The bedding was outdated and the sheets and pillowcases were stained. Kitchen light fixture was broke and hanging,. One coffee maker leaked water, shortage of toilet paper..Outside front and back decks were dirty. Rain gutters need to be cleaned out as they were overflowing with debris.The inside had a musty/moth ball smell. We noticed all our clothes that we didn’t wear had that smell also. Maybe because it hadn’t been opened up enough for the spring season. Sleeping arrangements were sufficient, good hot water showers, immaculate view with beautiful sunrises.We took pictures of things that were either broken or not what they should be so we wouldn’t be charged later. Good idea for vacationers. Overall we were satisfied, but the price we paid was a little high for what we thought it could or should be. Like I said , mostly cosmetic and easy fixes.for the owners to take note of. Newer bedding number one and a good deep clean/ smell would really enhance the stays in the future. We would definitely come back if those were taken care of. Thanks Betty, we still had a good stay.

Marine Corps Basic Training Graduation

If you have a large group coming for a Parris Island Basic Training Graduation, this is a great place to stay. Our large family group of 12 had a grate stay here, so much better than staying in 3 cramped hotel rooms. The drive to Parris Island is about 20 min. The views of the river are fantastic. The house is a little older and showing its age, which may not be good for some people, but it is clean and comfortable, and the location is amazing.

Perfect for our needs!

Beautiful view; great location

Had a great stay at the Chechessee River House for 3 Senior siblings and spouses. House spaces -inside and out- were great with cooler weather making the outdoors quite enjoyable all day long. Upstairs bedrooms were a little difficult for a couple of us but we just planned our day to stay downstairs as much as we could. There's a well stocked book shelf and great reading spots. Fishing from the dock and by boat produced a couple of meals for us. Location is perfect as we made trips into both Beaufort and Bluffton for shopping and dinner. Owners were very responsive. We had a wonderful week-long stay!

River House

Walking into this house felt exactly like home. We loved the beautiful property and the dock! We spent most of our time on the porch and fishing on the dock. This was the perfect spot for us to stay for our son’s graduation. The hosts are very welcoming and kind and helpful! If we are ever in South Carolina again, we will most definitely be staying here.

Great fishing !!

This trip was for my Grandsons graduation The reason why we chose this property was because of the dock and it didn’t disappoint!! My grandson fished the whole time we were there !! He caught about 20 sharks a stingray and some other type of fish not sure what they were his girlfriend also caught several fish. The house was large and was plenty of room for my family The only negative is that the upstairs was dusty and my Grandaughter could not sleep up there because of her allergy to dust so she slept on the couch downstairs But other than that we enjoyed our stay 😊

Lovely location, could use thorough cleaning

The house was just the right size and space for a visit to the area to attend a wedding. It was homey and had all of the things we needed in the kitchen, etc. Overall, the space could use a more detailed clean as it was quite dusty and triggered allergies. The area was peaceful, and we enjoyed the scenery from the dock.

4 generations came together and spent thanksgiving together. The house and property gave everyone plenty of space for cooking, eating, fishing, fire pit star gazing, walking, play and private times. Everyone found fun things to do. Easy access to Port Royal and Beaufort and other surrounding areas.

Peaceful and well equipped

Our family loves to fish and shrimp. the house and the boat dock were perfect to meet our needs. It is obvious that the owners want you to feel at home in their home. The pups loved it too!

Nice place

The house is great. It’s a little dated but it matches the pictures, and it was clean and comfortable. We had a little hold up on arrival when I realized the host hadn’t sent us instructions to get in. But it all worked out in the end.
