“The cottage is just as pictured in photos, large open downstairs, nice patio with lakeview and GREAT beach. Upstairs can get VERY hot and the track coming in is super muddy but we had a great time there.”

“The rooms are clean, plenty of towels. There are four bedrooms upstairs with their own en suite bathroom. There are two other rooms upstairs with a shared bathroom all very comfortable. there is another bedroom on the main floor that looks like it was once a large dining room. They can sleep a bunch of kids, but there’s no bathroom. They need to walk upstairs. The kids enjoyed the hot tub. Great outdoor fireplace with firewood supplied. About a 10 minute walk from the beach, we can watch the……

Communication from our hosts was top notch, ensuring we knew how to find the property, clear check-in and checkout instructions, asking if there was anything we needed, recommending things to do around the area, and even personalizing our welcome card. From the moment we stepped out of the car, we could hear the waves of beautiful lake Huron crashing against the shore. This charming, historic, rustic cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway.……

“We loved our stay at the Sugar Shack! Very clean, well laid out and the little things (robes in the closet, house slippers for the hot tub, etc.) were such a nice touch. The retro record player (and a great selection of records) put it over the top - made our evenings even more fun listening to some of the oldies. Would definitely come back!”

“Thrilled to have found this gem! We were looking for a place where 12 adults, 5 children and 2 dogs could celebrate an 80th birthday and this location did not disappoint!! It was less than 2 hours from home and everyone had time to roam, rest and relax. We had a catered meal on Saturday night so didn’t do much cooking but the house was well equipped for everything … lots of dishes and flatware!! We lucked out with weather and were outside most of the time but did enjoy the basement activities……
