- Fox Kit Cottage offers an exciting ocean experience in sumptuous comfort. As you scroll through the pictures you will see there is nothing in Bodega Bay like it. Well-appointed, it has two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed, the other with two twin beds, and one bathroom. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or a vacation for a small family.
With its remodel in 2011and further enhancements in 2018, the cottage continues as an upscale retreat for its owners and guests. Sitting above Wright’s Beach, views dominate from nearly every room, and intense ocean scenes are customary. From the beautifully designed deck and spa, you will relax, unwind, and feel what the power of the sea can do for your soul.
The ocean is not the only attraction. There is wildlife everywhere. Birds, whales, and fox (the cottage’s namesake) are just a sampling. From two short paths – Monterey Pine Path, and Bluff Path, you will enjoy the coastal landscape and incredible views. The spacious lot hosts a majestic, intricately intertwined, 40-year old Monterey Pine tree, with a path under its canopy and a stone bench to sit and admire natural arbor artistry. The Bluff Path takes you down to a bench amongst the freshwater springs, flowering foliage, with the vast ocean below.
Furnishings reflect a commitment to clean contemporary design, local art, and attention to detail. Amenities include quality bedding, thick bath towels and robes, and natural toiletries, setting this home apart from others. There are activities nearby for everyone: Horseback riding on the beach, surfing at Salmon Creek Beach, pampering at the Osmosis Spa, hiking among ancient redwoods at Armstrong Grove, golfing at Bodega Harbour, abalone diving, kayaking and swimming on the Russian River, zip-lining at Occidental. The list goes on and on, and we are happy to provide suggestions!

Das Haus wird natürlich seiner Lage wegen gebucht. Und, Ja, die Lage und die Sicht sind fantastisch. Aber auch der Vorgarten und der Garten sind traumhaft gepflegt und schön, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Bis auf Ameisen in der Speisekammer und der Küche und ein quietschendes Bett gab es nichts, was was den Genuss trüben könnte. Einen Fuchs haben wir nicht gesehen, aber ein Waschbär, Rehe, Wühlmäuse und jede Menge Vogelarten.

This was a “Nana and Papa” vacation with our 2 grandsons (aged 9 and 12). The view is amazing. The property’s landscaping was immaculately manicured and beautiful. The home was well equipped with clear instructions for operating specific equipment and plenty of room for us all to relax and stretch out. The walk to the beach was a little challenging for the elders but the kids managed just fine. The one thing I should have researched a bit more was that the beach the home overlooks is not appropriate for swimming due to the topography of the area. But we only had to drive 4 miles south to find a sandy beach with a much easier entry and safer for our kids to run in and out of the surf. The hot tub was perfect for warming up and watching the magical sunsets after a day of hiking, fishing and building beach “forts” with drift wood! We all had a great time.
