Old Norman farmhouse in the Charentonne valley

"Hubert and Sylvie are excellent hosts, attentive without being intrusive and full of recommendations for exploring the local area. We stay in Normandy most summers and love the culture and warm welcomes in the area. The gite is lovely, with three good sized bedrooms and plenty of space for eating and relaxing. The pool was very welcome after a hot day walking around Rouen, and the friendly cows in the adjoining field were great to see. Bernay is a lovely town with several great restaurants, only about a 5-10 minute drive, although it only takes an hour to walk in down quiet roads through the nearby wood. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Hubert, Sylvie and Vodka the dog, and will certainly try to make it back to this lovely quiet corner of the Carentonne!"

"Only one remark. Someone used the room before my Mom s arrival and rested on thr left side of the bed. Then didn't t fix it, and we could see the room.had been used."

"Nous avons passé 10 jours avec nos 4 enfants. Tout s'est très bien passé, lieu très calme et reposant qui nous a permis de faire une vraie coupure. Les enfants ont profité à fond de la cabane, du ping pong, de la balançoire, et de la très grande gentillesse de notre hôte Stella ;). Nous leur souhaitons une excellente continuation !"

"Clean and spacious. We stayed over for one night while travelling south. The reception team were kind and welcoming even in the middle of the night. The hotel was clean and welcoming and we left the next day feeling there was more to come back and see."

"Charming, beautifully restored and modernized house. Corinne was proactive and quick to respond. We especially appreciated how family-friendly it was, with a high chair, crib, kid beds, large yard, play structure, and lawn games. Wonderful stay!"

"Beautiful old half-timbered auberge in a small town, with a delightful aspect. The owner, Tina, was very attentive, friendly and helpful - from local sightseeing recommendations to a lovely breakfast with locally sourced items. Bed was comfortable, good shower, rooms were spacious - for a building of this age - and parking was on site and easy. If you like the photos, it definitely looks like them, and I would heartily recommend."
