I was so excited to stay here because I've driven by it many times and the property is gorgeous! Right outside downtown Blowing Rock. The pool, hot tub and sauna area is phenomenal!
My complaint is that a single couple traveling for a romantic weekend was put in a room smack dab in the middle of a bunch of families with screaming kid. Unfortunately the walls are very thin so not only could we hear every word they were saying inside the room but the children were also very loud going up and down the halls. My question is, why would an upscale hotel like this put a single couple traveling alone in a room next to a bunch of families with children? Seems like bad Management on the hotel's part. My other complaint is that employees were sitting around the bar "talking shop", when we went to have a cocktail at Timberlakes, the on-site bar/restaurant. Not exactly what you want to hear - a bunch of employees talking about work while you're at the bar having a relaxing cocktail. The management needs to correct these issues.
