Excellent friendly place to stop

Excellent stay very close to everything just a few minutes to the cathedral. Brilliant early check in and let us also have a late check out. Everything you need in the apartment. A fantastic place to stay on a beautiful city.

Rue Ruat 30, Bordeaux

The apartment is in a central location in the pedestrian zone of Bordeaux near the cathedral. A roomy bright apartment. Very nicely furnished. Rather noisy from neighbours and dustmen early in the morning as windows single glazed. But that only happened a couple of times and deter us from sleeping in the comfortable beds. Otherwise, apart from a dripping tap and a temperamental coffee machine, a nice place to stay for a few days in Bordeaux.

Terrible host

Check-in did not go well. I followed the host agency’s instructions snd notified the concierge of our time of arrival. No response. When we arrived, nobody was there. We were eventually let in by the woman who had come by to clean the apartment, 1 hour and 45 minutes after our arrival. I later let the host agency know about the issues we encountered at check-in and did not receive a response. The apartment was fine and mostly as described. However, the hot water tank was out of order. There was absolutely no hot water. We contacted the host immediately, but getting a hold of them was incredibly difficult (no response after business hours and none of my voicemail messages were returned). Nobody came by until 2 days after our arrival, when we were told the hot water tank would not be repaired during our stay. We were finally (after I called vrbo to complain) given access to a different apartment, in which we spent the last 2 nights our stay. I spent hours of our stay attempting to contact the host agency, leaving messages and making sure we would not miss the agency’s calls, should they call. We accommodated their schedule (which required us, at one point, to cut a visit to a nearby town short to meet an agency employee at the apartment, only to find out on arrival that they had decided not to come until the next day). The entire stay was an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience, and the agency has told us that we would not be compensated for any of it.

Très bel appartement mais frais à prévoir

- Malgré tous les radiateurs allumés il faisait très froid - du bruit la nuit (samedi soir) car c'est une rue passante - Des frais difficiles à évaluer car non clairement affichés: en plus du prix afficher sur booking il faudra compter: 49 euros dE frais de ménage + literie (j'ai appelé 2 semaine avant pour dire que j'en avait pas besoin, on m'avait confirmé que c'était ok mais pour finaliser la reservation quelques jours avant je n'avais pas d'autre option que de payer ces 49 euros supplémentaires) + frais de caution (on vous demande de laisser une empreinte bancaire pour moi de 25 euros et les frais liés à l'utilisation de la plateforme sont facturés aux locataires et sont au prorata du montant de la location) - Nous devions libérer l'appartement à 10h et avions demandé à la proprio si nous pouvions laisser nos bagages quelques part car nos trains partaient à 17h30. Elle nous autorisé à laisser nos bagages dans un des logements qu'elle possède. Malheureusement en revenant récupérer nos bagages certaines de nos affaires avaient disparus. Conseil: prévoyez plutôt des lockers, il y en a un peu partout sur Bordeaux et notamment à la gare.

Great city and great location

The apartment is in a great location near to the cathedral and major tram connections. It is spacious and relaxing with the beds particularly comfortable. For me the downside was the booking process which was originally through Booking.com but then handled by a site call Swikly which I found very officious with pages of T's and C's and a £250 damage deposit. We stayed for three very pleasant nights but the boiler stopped working early on the final morning. Even though this was reported we never received a courtesy reply which was disapointing.

TIP for 30 Rue de Ruat

TIP: If you travel by car (with a lot of luggage) it is not possible to reach 30 Rue de Ruat because the inner city is closed off by electric poles. We found out that if you enter AND exit Parking Pey Berland and keep right via Pl. Pey Berland, continue on Rue Vital Carles and turn left on Rue Poquelin Molière and turn left on Rue de Ruat, you can reach your 30 Rue de Ruat by car. After dropping off your luggage you will find an electric pole at the end of Rue de Rabat. To exit the inner city you do not need a card or code, just drive up to the pole, wait until the light turns orange (the electric pole has sunk into the ground) and leave the inner city. Do not rush because the pole will not rise until your car has passed it.

Not awful not great

The apartment was in a great location and was ok for a few days. However, the wifi was incredibly slow and we were working remote there for those days. The beds were not really big enough for two and not very comfortable. If you need somewhere cheap for in Bordeaux it's fine but not the best you can get!

Séjour Bordeaux- Le Ruat hypercentre

Appartement idéalement situé au pied de la Cathédrale Saint André. Beaux volumes et pierres apparentes. Vous profiterez de Bordeaux sa vieille ville et ces monuments sans voiture. Nous regerettons simplement les odeurs nauséabondes dans les parties communes et le manque d'isolation phonique ( même si l'appartement est en zone piétonne) surtout dans la chambre qui donne sur la rue.

Appartement cosy au centre de Bordeaux

Bel appartement dans une rue pietonne, cosy avec 2 chambres, celle donnant sur la rue étant tout de même bruyante, le simple vitrage laissant passer les bruits de rue, (camion poubelle et personnes festives) en revanche celle côté cour est très calme. Toutes commodités, appartement bien fourni. Bémol sur la douche un peu rustique, on ne peut suspendre le pommeau.

The apartment was very beautiful and had a perfect location, in the city center of Bordeaux. The communication with the concierge Mandy was also great and clear. The only flaw was the showerhead, which was hanging too low. When you shower you have to hold the showerhead above your head.
