Traditionally, life in the neighbourhood revolves around Place des Chartrons (less than 10 minutes from the flat), which offers a wide range of bars and restaurants and a small covered market. But there is also Rue Notre Dame (5 minutes from the flat), where you will find antique dealers and independent designer boutiques. Not to mention the legendary Chartrons market on the quays every Sunday until 2pm. It is the ideal place for an al fresco lunch.
