Beacon Hill hotel is located in a very pleasant part of Boston, adjacent the common and gardens and within a short walk of 75 Chestnut - an excellent restaurant. However, our 3 night reservation was marred by a room that was far too small, a cold, buffet style, breakfast displayed on the bar with limited seating, and an ineffective heating system to cope with the extremely cold weather experienced during our visit. For the price of $1276 I expected a far better accommodation and level of service.

Room was clean but so small. Definitely only for sleeping as lounging was out for 2 people in such q small space. No offer for additional water or clean towels for the 2nd day. Set trash outside door and no one picked it up ever. Help with bags was offered but both times the check in and check out guys just stood there so we proceeded on our own. 2 women in the dark of a strange town. Not impressive. Nice place but can up their customer service a lot.

Location is really the key for this hotel and it’s a decent value for that. It’s got a New England charm and, really the location is why we stay here.

Not worth the cost.

Air conditioner in room did not work, making it difficult to sleep. Shower was warm but not hot. Could hear people in the hall during the early morning (room description stated sound proofing). Bed and pillows comfortable.

Wonderful hotel in a great part of Boston. Walking distance or easy transportation to just about anyplace a visitor would want to see. Room was a bit small, but not a problem considering we only slept in the room. We will be back!!

Decent Space in Boston

Overall, I enjoyed our stay at this spot. The location can’t be beat. It’s right by Boston Common (for parking) and nestled on Charles Street, close to attractions but far enough away that you can escape the hustle and bustle at night. The staff were friendlyish but often unavailable (another guest said her power went out and no one was around to help). Room could have been cleaner. There were stains on the sheet and areas in the room that looked like they hadn’t been touched in awhile. The elevator broke down while we were there, which wasn’t the end of the world, but wouldn’t have been pleasant if we had to schlep all our luggage up the stairs. We were near the upstairs terrace and it got really noisy at night. We ended up using a sound machine to drown out the noise. It’d be nice to offer small amenities, as well - my friend forgot a toothbrush and they didn’t have any on hand. It’s a cute space but shows wear - hoping they keep up maintenance bc it has the potential to be great.
