Summer Breeze July 4th Getaway
I’ve always admired this property from the lake and when it was available for our 4th of July vacation, I grabbed it! Unfortunately, arriving at the property there was a 1/4 inch of mud, dirt, and slime on the front walkway. I was so disappointed that this was my first impression. Then the front entry code didn’t work. I called the number in the welcome email and a backup code was provided. The property is beautiful but is in need of a deep clean. Kitchen drawers were full of crumbs and the area under the island was yucky. (Les, the property manager, showed up randomly on Tuesday to “check the air filters,” which I thought was odd.)My grandchildren were joining me so I went out to inspect the pool. I assume the same storm that had wreaked havoc on the front walkway did the same to the pool. The filter was full of leaves and debris and the bottom of the pool was covered with leaves and dirt. The week started with the management company being very responsive. Someone came to clean the sidewalk on Sunday and the pool on Tuesday. After several texts and calls, our trash was collected. Trash was in the outside can when I arrived on Saturday. I assumed someone would be by to pick it up. No one came until I called and texted several times. The pool area is in need of weeding. My concerns may sound frivolous but when families spend a large percentage of their discretionary income, they have a right to an awesome experience. In this case, it was just okay.
