Visiting from East Yorkshire, this was our first stay in Devon. We holidayed at the Swanpool lodge for one week. The lodge was perfect for our needs, spotlessly clean, super comfy king-size bed, amazing shower, all the kitchen amenities and some. The outdoor garden, decking and hot tub was brilliant, all very secure. We greatly welcomed the outdoor cupboard for storing our boots and drying our coats. All of the lodges are extremely private.
Unfortunately, the weather was not kind to us during our stay. This prevented us and our small dog from enjoying the outdoor garden and meant we wasn't able to take advantage of the wonderful nearby walks and stunning dunes due to bogged fields, driving winds, rain and puddles. We needed to use the car and spend more time finding indoor refuge from the rain and wind more than we would have preferred, sadly Devon is not the motorists friend. We was hit with parking fees wherever we went, nearby Woolacombe beachfront carpark charged £12 after 1pm regardless of time spent in there, word of warning, use the on-street parking its better value. If we lived closer we would most definately return as the landscapes and scenery are stunning, we just wish the sky would have been blue!
Thank you Sarah for a comfortable peaceful retreat.
