  • Located on a 100-acre working farm in the heart of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, two fantastic properties combine to form a luxurious holiday base for large groups of friends and families with the dogs in tow. Set in the peaceful village of Crai, this large retreat offers a haven for nature lovers, with red kites often spotted swooping overhead. Walkers and adventurers will adore exploring the surrounding national park, with the chance to climb Pen y Fan – South Wales' highest peak – or tread the breathtaking Epynt Way trails from the doorstep. For closer adventures, enjoy private fishing on the River Crai, white-water canoeing on the River Usk, or tee off at Cradoc Golf Club's 18-hole course (10 miles). After an exciting day, return home to dine alfresco on the patio or soak in the bubbling hot tub under the region’s dark skies.


    Before stepping inside this impressive property, take a moment to appreciate its lodge-style façade and far-reaching countryside views. The rural charm continues on entry, where you’ll find two spacious, well-appointed homes combined into one. In the first half of the property, gather in the ground-floor lounge/diner to unwind after days of adventure; sink into the soft seating, flick on the TV, and fire up the wood burner for a cosy evening. On warmer days, throw open the patio doors to let the fresh air flow through. When stomachs rumble, find that the nearby kitchen is equipped with everything needed for cooking up Welsh feasts. Enjoy the chef’s work back in the lounge/diner, or al fresco-style out on the patio. At the end of each busy day away, five restful bedrooms are spread across both floors – two king-size rooms, a double, and two cosy twin bedrooms. A sofa converts to sleep an extra two guests, while an en-suite wet room, en-suite shower room, and a family bathroom serve the bedrooms. The second half of this expansive holiday home features much of the same rural, lodge-style charm. Gather in the ground-floor living space – the property’s social heart combining the lounge, kitchen and diner. Settle weary walking muscles in the lounge, with its inviting seating arranged around a TV for cosy evenings. Cook up a feast in the cream-coloured kitchen and gather either back in the living space or out in the garden to dine as you plan the next day’s itinerary. After dinner, enjoy a competitive night around the pool table, or venture off to find the four delightful bedrooms – two king-size rooms, a triple room with a double and single bed, and a twin bedroom with two rise-and-recline single beds. An en-suite wet room, en-suite shower room and well-appointed family bathroom complete the inside space.


    Outside, make full use of the spacious lawns that surround the property. Let the kids play garden games as they discover the trampoline, climbing frame, and swings. Meanwhile, adults can gather at the covered, furnished patio space for an evening tipple. More outdoor furniture and BBQ stand ready for al fresco meals, while a sheltered hot tub invites guests to sink into bubbling bliss.
