Best hotel choice for Aletsch Glacier
We are living in Brig and heading to eggishorn for aletsch glacier. The hotel staff give us so many advice on that. For location, near to the train station is an advantage. Also there is a tiny supermarket nearby.

First of all, the location is great because it is located in front of Breg station (just 2min on foot). Secondly staff services are excellent. We realized that I left the wallet in the hotel room after checkout but the woman staff accepted us so kindly even though early morning. I can’t say thanks enough. Recommend to stay here!

We were on a train to stay at this hotel; however, we arrived in Milan, Italy on a train and got stuck at the train station as there was a train strike on this day and our departure train to Brig was cancelled. We were not able to get on a train to Brig but they still charged us for the stay stating we had to cancel 3 days in advance. This was not our fault and we feel they should be more flexible due to this being the fault of the train personnel going on strike and shutting down trains. We had to unexpectedly find and pay for another hotel in a different town. Beware of their inflexible policy!

Hotel is quiet but the surroundings being next to the railway station is not. The hotel is towards the budget end for Swiss hotels. very clean in good condition but room a bit on the small size but this typical for independent European hotels. The staff where very friendly and knowledgable.

Gut für Kurzaufenthalt
Wir waren für eine Nacht im Hotel Garni in Brig. Das Zimmer und Badezimmer waren sauber. Doch hingen z.T. Elektroleitungen frei hängend herum und leider - das ist mein grösster Kritikpunkt - funktionierte der Ventilator im Badezimmer nicht. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut und bot eine gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränke. Auch der (Kaffee-) Service war sehr freundlich. Chek-In und -Out waren problemlos und die Lage nahe zum Bahnhof war sehr praktisch. Das Hotel kann ich für Kurzaufenthalte in Brig gut empfehlen.

Ganz herziges Hotel. Ganz freundlich empfangen, obwohl meine Ankunft später war als gedacht. Zimmer sehr sauber. Zwar ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, aber das tut dem Charme des Hotels fast noch ein bisschen gut :) Gerne wieder nächstes Jahr.

I stayed during a trip around Switzerland by rail and this hotel was my base for a couple of day trips, starting from Brig station which is right across the street. On one trip I went to Zermatt for a trip up a mountain to view the Matterhorn and on another I went into northern Italy and made a circular trip back to Brig.
