When I saw my work event was being hosted at a Hilton, I had certain expectations of a nice, clean, modern hotel. However, this particular Hilton did not meet those expectations. The main issues were trays from other people's room service being left out in the corridor for extended periods of time, which just looked messy, spelling mistakes on posters (e.g. in the lift regarding the restaurant), and being bothered by staff early morning. On the latter point, this happened twice - the first time was due to reception not linking two bookings properly (despite telling me it was fine) and confused cleaning staff arriving to change over the room (made more difficult by the limited English skills of the cleaners), and the second time, it was 08:15 on the day of checkout (the checkout time is 12 noon) and a woman was going round knocking on doors to check occupancy. I really didn't appreciate an early morning wakeup for no good reason when I was having a rare lie in. Overall, it's fine but nothing to write home about.
