Nice, quiet location just a 4-minute drive or a 20-minute walk to the town centre. Plenty to keep the kids entertained, including a spa and a large backyard with play equipment. Excellent Wifi. The upstairs bedroom in the barn is well suited to children; less so for adults due to low ceiling. One bedroom has a fold-out couch as a bed.Excellent kitchen with cooking supplies and tablets supplied for the dishwasher.
The property is nice and the house is very very clean. The kitchen is great with everything we needed to cook all meals. House worked well for large adult family with separate accommodation in the granny flat. Lovely firm beds with electric blankets.
Only problem was the portable cot did not work so check before staying if needed.
Otherwise excellent accommodation.
Beautiful house, in a great location. Lovely little spa and pretty garden. Lovely kitchen and lounge room.
Sadly no gas in BBQ. Used towel left in masterbedroom upon our arrival. Few pieces of old rubbish in garden bushes. Otherwise we had a lovely family weekend away.
We were four families plus a great grandmother and a dog, celebrating a milestone birthday. Duncraig provided a large property with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Easy walk into the quaint village. Quiet neighbourhood. Any questions were answered immediately and we encountered no issues. The one thing we did not bring that we needed, was insect repellent for the mozzies. Kitchen necessities and condiments, tea bags and coffee pods, shower toiletries were provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. plentiful mozzies.forcomfortable
Duncraig House was by far the best property my family has stayed at for Winter weekends away. Property slept 7 adults and 3 children very comfortably. High chair and large variety of kids toys was a bonus as well as play equipment outside.
Property was very clean and a large amount of towels and blankets where available. Kitchen had all the utensils required. Will definitely be back next year.
Gorgeous home, perfect for extended family getaway. Very child friendly.
House was equipped with all we needed.
Only smart tv was in the main bedroom so perhaps take dvds for kids in the upstairs tv room or a chrome cast to watch Netflix etc.
Would also suggest bringing groceries with you as local small grocery store had exorbadant prices.
This is a beautiful house. Modern and well maintained, with spacious gardens and plenty of parking. The kitchen is very well equipped with great cooking utensils, large pots and pans, plates, cups etc. The beds were comfortable, although for a large group of friends, as opposed to couples, the option of separating beds would have been good. Not enough dining chairs for 13 of us, (and one had a jutting screw which tore a blouse) and not enough sofas in the common living area. We were there on a cold and rainy weekend, so we didn’t utilise the outdoor space. The futon was not made up, and the bed linen supplied was the wrong size. The upstairs toilet didn’t flush when we arrived. However the staff at the holiday rental management company were very responsive and rectified our linen and plumbing issue very quickly. We thought a standard 4:00pm check in time was too late and a little mean, although we were granted an early check in at 2:00pm. We also didn’t appreciate being hit with a charge of an extra $800 dollars when we moved our 2 night stay forward by one night. We used the fireplace, however, there is an extra grill in the ingle which prevents the fireplace from operating properly, and although ample firewood was supplied, there was no kindling which was problematic in the rain. Overall we would recommend this house.
We stayed at Duncraig House for our annual trip away with our friends, the kids and dogs. The grounds of the house were lovely and big however it was raining the whole time we were there so unfortunately weren't able to spend any time outside. The media room which is considered a bedroom is at the top of the stairs from the kitchen & dining room and is open plan with no door. Not really what I would consider a bedroom and didn't provide any privacy and was not suitable for young kids to sleep in as it is at the top of stairs with no door to the room and quite loud from the noise from the kitchen and dining room.
The spa was also not working while we were there which was disappointing.
That being said the rest of the layout of the house was lovely, the beds were comfortable and lots of pillows to choose from. Nice big kitchen and island bench which was great for our large group. We still had a lovely time
This property was perfect for our family celebration together. Our two daughters, their husbands and 4 young children joined us for an extended weekend to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday in a very relaxed manner.
The accommodation was very comfortable. We had 2 littlies who slept in portable cots which we brought. The 3 and 5 year olds enjoyed their bunk bed setup in the children’s room. Adults were very comfortable in king/queen beds. Each family had their own space and bathroom. My husband and I were very comfortable in the adjoining cottage.
The house has a beautiful open fireplace, with efficient heating panels in every room. We were cosy! The kitchen is modern and well equipped. The living/dining areas were very comfortable and spacious .
The grounds are beautiful. The playground was a hit with all 4 children (ranging from 1- 5 yrs old). The jacuzzi was also a hit! We enjoyed several lunches sitting at the table on the large north facing verandah. The Winter sunshine was fabulous! The 5 year old whippet loved the secure grounds too.
A local caterer provided a delicious birthday dinner at home, on one of the evenings. We took the children to a local scooter/skateboard park, and we all enjoyed a scenic bush walk. We also attended a terrific puppet show locally, on the Sunday morning. And we enjoyed coffees and ‘goodies’ from the excellent local cafes.
But we were mostly occupied happily in the very comfortable house/garden.
It was a beautifully relaxed step back, from the busy city lives which our families live!
The house is very clean and the kitchen is full of appliances and you don’t need to take anything, the backyard has a great playground for kids.

Beautiful location and lovely home
The house was beautiful, though it could have been cleaner (floors were sticky and the bins were overflowing when we arrived), the kitchen draws and cupboards were full but very disorganised and messy, bathroom door downstairs did not lock - kinda awkward with 14 people when it was the only downstairs bathroom with a bath and shower in it...the 'double' bed in one of the rooms upstairs wasn't a bed, it was converted lounging seats, not very comfortable so we could only put 'light' people on them. Overall a gorgeous house though in a beautiful location - walking distance to train station and lovely for walking around, we would stay there again.
Perfect for a large family with lots of break out areas. We had my mum’s 70th and could fit everyone comfortably and warmly in the freezing weather! Would definitely recommend and return.
