Pleasant property, very challenging access drive, needs improvement
Good
-Pleasant traditional farmhouse
-Nice View
-Natural
-Buti: nice small town, good places to eat & central location
-Kitchen: fairly well equipped
-Bathrooms: functional & adequate
Bad parts
-Description says "don't suggest to come with sport cars or caravans" then "no problem to ride up with other cars". We had 5 experienced drivers, 1 former HGV driver & hired 2 ‘compact SUV’ cars (not 4WD) yet we struggled with this road every day. Adds 15m to every journey. VERY challenging road: steep, narrow & as its covered in gravel the cars struggle to get traction; got stuck at several points, on several days. This almost ruined our stay as it made returning to the property stressful. Caterina gave us advice & said ‘we would get used to it’. We did get more 'experienced' at it, but it remained a challenge for all of our stay. A larger 4WD vehicle may help, but the road is very narrow there would be other size challenges
Linen was old, scratchy, stained and musty. Had to re-wash towels. Mustiness possibly being caused by the washing machine. The extra blankets (which we had to use) were similarly very dusty & musty. New towels, linen & blankets are needed.
-Initially found parts of the property to be dusty, realised it wasn't dust as is fine wood dust - the property has a woodworm infestation
-Not '1km to the village': 2.5km via the steep access road. 35-40m walk down & 45-50m up if you are fit
We made some good memories, but the access to the property was just too stressful
