Had a self contained ground floor room near pool. Great size fridge. Very quiet. Great view of pool area. Ideal for us. Customer service was excellent. Loved it.

Great quiet location - perfect for me

It was surprisingly quiet considering there are a lot of units there, mostly residential. Close to main road but thick glass kept room very quiet which I didn’t realise until door was opened. Easy access to bus stop and IGA otherwise hire a car as city centre is 15 minutes away. Family trip not tourist trip so perfect for me.

It’s what you would expect for a more budget friendly option and definitely did the job, it would just have been nice if the black mould was cleaned out of the bathroom so that I didn’t feel like I needed to shower with my thongs on.

Excellent value for money Recent road upgrades to the port make it a quick trip to town or there’s a bus stop almost at the door. Walk to small grocer and variety of takeaways or walk west to a great bakery A lot of the original resort is used for longer stay accomodation popular with tradies and temporary workers so it’s pretty quiet during the day It has a great pool and bbq area very well maintained The rooms although dated are very spacious and clean with plenty of desk space and outdoor balconies Although the rooms are non smoking the general smoking area is on the south side so ask for a room on the north side if don’t like smoking If you just need to do some business in town or want a budget basic option Gateway is a great choice

Had two deaf elderly people staying in the roof next time that had their television on level 100 every night so loud I could not even hear my own television . Complained to management but if they did anything I never saw the reason we as overnight was a noise nightmare . Worst experience in a hotel in my life these people made me so uncomfortable I would get stressed when they came home because I knew I would have their super loud television to deal with . A waste of $1k odd dollars and saying up my my legal options

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!

It wasn't as advertised. The room had an unpleasant smell and the bed was very uncomfortable. After staying the night I couldn't sleep, and went to reception to inform the that I wanna check out. They refused to hear anything and did not refund me the money. I booked for 7 nights and stayed just a night. It was also advertised that the wifi is free but they were charging 6$ an hour for wifi. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!

Checking in was a nightmare on a Sunday evening when no reception. Got key from safe OK but no signage as to where room was located. After 30 mins looking rang and was guided to winding pathway behind reception and three 2 gates in pool area. The so called resort is so isolated nothing close by so with no car we were stuck in the room all night without dinner. The rooms are very basis and dated not my idea of a resort.Checked out next morning as need to be closer to Cairns. Reception refused to give me any refund on the 7 nights already paid blaming that it was up to Expedia but Expedia say it was up to the resort and not there decision Would not recommend to anyone
